Nice article from Jensen about Dunphy and how he runs practice. Sorry I can't copy and post but it's on Jensen's Twitter feed and Inquirer online site. Hopefully one of our posters can move it here. Hard not to get excited about La Salle basketball after reading this. The man can coach!

This article made me pretty excited. I've been kind of skeptical on the long-term benefits of this whole thing since he was hired, but there's no doubt we've got a really good, experienced coach running things right now, which has to be a positive in the immediate term at least.

Great article. Thanks for the heads up. I'm curious to see how the level of discipline out on the court increases under Dunphy. It'll also be nice to see an actual offensive scheme.

We may have a team that lacks star talent but a team that has its fundamentals down sounds incredible Hoping to hear some new on how Rokas Jocius is doing in practice.

Agreed with above points. With proper role definition which this team has lacked for the better part of 8 years now, we're bound to have some good nights. The lack of star talent COULD become like a calling card for this team, rather than having to depend on someone like Moore have a career night on the glass every single night out there, just to halfway bail us out of mistakes at the other positions. I think we'll miss Moore as a player the most out of any transfer to leave this program, ever. But the dependency on him to have a career night every time out just to have a chance to win ball games these last two seasons was to our overall detriment, unfortunately.
Off the court, I'd really like to see a buzz generated on campus again like we only had for the Galloway / Duren years of 2012-2013 and first part of 2013-14 (in the win against Temple). Can this staff capture the enthusiasm of a campus and city that for so long has ignored this program??? I have no doubt from the increased attendance at the alumni engagement events that they're capable of having such an effect.
On the court stuff is the other important element - and it seems he is getting us there incrementally, but measurably already. I love that Dunphy and his staff are running effective practices now. Regardless of that he's apparently "softened" with age, Dunphy in his career has always been the kind that can show players how to play within their roles and accentuate their skill sets. You don't need necessarily a harder regimen to effect that. How his sort of influence will manifest itself with our fast motor guys like Brantley and Gill, it remains to be seen but I'm very optimistic at the opportunity to raise everyone's ceilings quite a bit. (And bring up the floor, too!) If our top minutes guys on a bad night would eliminate the unforced turnovers and the like, we're going to have an opportunity to contend again in the A10 right away, without a very long turnaround required.
