Some of you guys (anyone that PM's a moderator about posts) are a bunch of tight asses. It's Memorial Day Weekend, and this board is getting about 5 posts per day. If you don't like it, contribute something to the board. If it were January, or 2 months ago with a new coach coming in, or we just signed a big time recruit, an assistant coach was just hired, or the schedule was just released, I'd understand the complaining. But this board is crickets right now.
Joe's a good moderator. I don't care if his politics align with Ralph Nader or Ron Paul. It's college basketball, so I can agree with him no matter how left he swings, or how right I swing, or if we both sit in the center. The dude has done this for a long time, and he was with the Collegian and a former La Salle Explorer track star. Props to Neumann for his EXP work and work in broadcasting with talk shows and Army football, etc...You guys know the ins and outs of this business, and both of you stepped up. Cal...I'm sorry, but those 2 are my contemporaries.
I've been on these boards since 03 as a freshman, when Explorer Steve ran lasalle-explorers.com, and used to have a referee report card every game based solely on Kale Beers commentary, since Steve didn't watch the games. The guy lost his shit and started censoring and banning guys left and right after the rape scandal of 04. We got the scout board through Explorer88, and Neumann started this thing 10 years ago.
This has been the best of the 3 or 4 boards, as it's been the most consistent and longest running board. However, nothing grinds my gears more than guys with 50 posts, who rarely comment or bring ANYTHING of substance to the table, bitch about the direction of threads or posts. Yes, these things go off the rails, but they usually run their course. We rarely get to cringe level. Participate. Bring something to the table. To PM a moderator and force their hand to moderate threads is something that we've tried to get away from...you need to re-evaluate yourselves. You can always skip over posts and threads.

La Salle is making their rounds with JUCO and D2 players. One player who's intriguing is Fairmount State's Isaiah Sanders. He would only have 1 or 2 years of eligibility. He averaged 21.6 points a game and was one of the top D2 players. by intriguing, are you saying dunph and staff are actually pursuing him, or you're just hoping that they will? he's not in the transfer portal as far as i can tell, but he did just graduate from fairmont (not fairmount) state, so i assume he didn't have to go into the portal since he'd get the grad transfer waiver automatically. he's a local kid from sicklersville, nj who went to timber creek hs. 6'5", 190 lbs, played at a d2 school in ohio his freshman year and followed his coach to fairmont where he's had a great career and won a lot of games. career averages of 15 ppg and 4.5 rpg, shot 56% overall, 41% from three and 85% from the line. looks like he'd be a nice one year stop gap replacement for jack clark. can't have enough shooters. basketball.realgm.com/player/Isaiah-Sanders/Summary/145064

Some of you guys (anyone that PM's a moderator about posts) are a bunch of tight asses. So to be perfectly clear, the complaints were public. I asked the thread to move past it and that wasn’t heeded. Here’s the deal. I’ve had more discussions in the past three months regarding the role this board plays in regards to La Salle basketball and the school in total. Conversations with a variety of different people in different positions that have woken me up to the idea that this board can be, at times, a net negative for the program. That’s not a role I want to play a part of. And making jokes about a former player or saying he ‘stinks’ is around a line I want to draw. As we get closer to the season, I’ll probably come up with more concise rules regarding talking about players or coaches, but I’ve tried to be more thoughtful about it in my comments.

I was one of the people that raised the issue about your comment on Stone. These are kids and I don't see a reason for knocking them like that. Believe me, I've taken the low road on this board at times, but I think when it's players, I strive to take the high road. I enjoy your posts lunatic, but that one? Ehh.

Why fixate on Stone when you can go right to the source. That would be Father Judge & Johns Hopkins grad Tom Quarry. Dunph should explore the possibility of bringing home a young man to play as a grad student with a possible 2 years of eligibility. This young man could also serve as a teaching assistant. hopkinssports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/tom-quarry/15364 I am not saying this kid is an A-10 starter but looking at what he has done at Hopkins he could be a contributor and a team leader. He can shoot the 3. Adding some strength, he could pound the rock inside and also become a credible rebounder.

Hopkins plays in the B1G (la crosse). My brother graduated from Hopkins. He was not sure if they had a men's basketball team.

If I'm not mistaken, I think this is Rokas' team/coach. Feisty atmosphere, to say the least! Hope Rokas brings some of that energy here. es.pn/3PWI2wB via @espn App espn.com/app

If I'm not mistaken, I think this is Rokas' team/coach. Feisty atmosphere, to say the least! Hope Rokas brings some of that energy here. es.pn/3PWI2wB via @espn App espn.com/appI have a buddy who played at UMass who played in Europe for a few years. He said Lithuania was absolutely insane. He told me a story about how hooligans who were supporters of his team forced the team bus to the side of the road after a tough loss to a rival, came on the bus, and then proceeded to attack one of the Lithuanian players. Another team they played against had a core fanbase of far-right skinheads who sometimes did Nazi salutes during games. My friend also told me some other things: * He was teammates at one point with La Salle alum Vernon Goodridge. He *LOVED* him. Said he was an all-time great dude and apparently incredibly smart in terms of things involving tech. * Not all teams in certain leagues are good with paying players on time or at all. Playing in a low-level German league with a lower salary would be better than playing in a top-level league in somewhere like Turkey or Greece or the Balkans because you would at least get paid on time. * The top leagues are Spain, France and Italy. If you can play in one of those leagues at the top-flight level, you can make a ton of money. After that, it was just trying to find sports and different countries had different reputations. The Adriatic League, Lithuania, Greece and Turkey were absolutely intense and frightening. * A league a lot of American players want to go to is Latvia. The reason? Nobody cares about basketball so you don't have people throwing flares or heated coins at you during games. Also, it has some of the most attractive women in the world and English is pretty common. * The single best coach he every played for was Quinn Snyder when my friend had a short G-League stint. He actually liked the G-League a lot. Outside of the pay being awful and crappy living conditions, the players all got along really well and everyone had hilarious stories about life in the minor leagues or overseas.

(6/8/22) Shane Dezonie is on Temple’s campus per his instagram. He is a target for the Owls.
Dezonie stated in the past he wanted to play closer to home and Temple is close.

Thought he committed to hawks Appears that there was a personal issue that caused him to withdraw the commitment. Some people at SJU who say they know the reason say it is understandable.

Wonder if any relation to early NBA player Hank DeZonie. Hank was, like La Salle’s Jackie Moore, one of the NBA’s first black players

He will have committed 4 times (Az, Vandy, SJU, destination #4) before playing his second year.

I bet someone showed him that "part city, part suburb" ad campaign. The fall of that program has been wild. I have no zero clue why they didn't make the necessary changes in the offseason. They have the platform to build something there. Sample size is large enough to determine that new leadership is needed.

Lange currently recruiting like he's going to be there for at least a couple more years. They've been focused on 2023 recruits which is wild to me given their roster. For a team that shot a million 3s, they don't have the shooters at all. I've said it before but I can't believe they chose Lange over Matt Langel at the time a few years ago. This isn't even a hindsight thing, this was a very obvious choice.

She is too proud to admit she made a mistake as that would be admitting her own failure. If she goes...he will be next.

Well Temple's dumpster fire of a conference continues to get eroded
"Cincinnati, Houston and UCF will officially join the Big 12 on July 1, 2023, after reaching an exit agreement with the American Athletic Conference, the league and schools announced Friday."

Wonder if they end up losing Navy for football too. Hard to imagine that conference will end up being that much better than an independent schedule for football.
Remaining Members for football: East Carolina Memphis Navy South Florida SMU Temple Tulane
New members coming in: Tulsa UAB Florida Atlantic James Madison Charlotte North Texas Rice

I understand the football aspect, but it makes no sense for Temple to be in that conference. They should rejoin the A10 and play in the AAC for football only. They could split the 7 eastern schools in one division and the rest in the other. Play 6 teams in your division and then 4 in the other division. The hoops play suffers after you factor in the departures and additions. They'd be better off with A10 travel for non-football sports too

I understand the football aspect, but it makes no sense for Temple to be in that conference. if i remember correctly, temple has $7 million reasons to remain in the aac. i believe that's how much each aac member receives annually from their espn contract. not sure if that's changing because of the defections though.
