Tonight's nonconf. match-up is between #47 RPI La Salle (13-3) and #46 Princeton (10-3-1) at 6:30 pm. On the line is La Salle's 15 game home win streak which extends back to 10/30/2010, as well as both teams' at large bid hopes.
La Salle's only bad loss is Villanova, but Nova emerged as a fluke force last week beating #12 Georgetown 1-0.

Princeton won this match, 2-1 in OT. Although the shots were fairly even, and La Salle managed to keep the #2 goal scorer in the country off the ball for the first 93 minutes, Princeton had a long throw in which provided an equalizer opportunity with an even better angle than a corner kick may have, and then finally broke through the tie in the 94th minute. So La Salle played extremely well but Princeton had a few aces when it counted.

I did not go to the Charlotte match but saw the goals online thanks to goexplorers TV, then came up for the semifinals/finals. La Salle really dominated the play in the first two rounds. I think all of the corners and scoring chances were in our favor. They had to deal with the worst reffing ever (equal opportunity is wonderful!!) but while it seemed to faze Butler, the La Salle players regrouped and withstood several late advances.
Tournament favorite,Dayton was eliminated last night! They suffered a 3-0 defeat in penalty kicks which is almost unheard of. First of all, it was the second time VCU and Dayton tied 1-1 in six days. To break the tie, they have to make best of 5 penalty kicks. This is usually Dayton's bread and butter. However, their best striker hit the crossbar which put them in the hole, then VCU keeper came up with two saves to stop Dayton from advancing!
