Just a little bit of a roll call to see whose going Saturday. I missed out on buying the tickets as when i went i was told they were sold out. Luckily i have two sisters still in the school so I'm hoping to score two student tickets tomorrow.
So, who's going to be there? How close to 50% will it be gold? I'd love to stick the knife really deep into St. Joe's season, while setting up a chance for the Big 5 sweep next Thursday!

I'm still up on the air- yes it's "sold out" but, nothing is ever really sold out. There's guys on the street and other avenues to take. I would almost feel a sense of pride if I spend $50 on a ticket to a la salle game

I will be there with 20 friends and family memebers. Most of the attendees will be first time Palestra visitors. I made it very clear, if any of my friends start flapping thier arms, like that stupid bird, I would break it off and beat them over thier head with it. I can't wait for Saturday, however, I am really worried about the trip to Olean on Wednesday.

Sounds like weather may be an issue because of course it will. I've already missed a game this year @ Siena because of snow and a game @hartford due to a fatal car accident closing Route 84.
I'll be at this one either way, but really hope the forecast changes. I want the building packed, not half empty because of a snow storm.

Or are you talking about from where you are coming from snow is a problem?

A little of both. I know they are only calling for showers at the moment, but some models are showing a decent sized storm, although it is admittedly early.

I will be there with a friend. I have season tickets and its interesting that for the PSU game we had seats 8 rows back and now we in Section 216. I do not understand how that works. You would think season ticket holders would have priority. Either way not a big deal, just happy to be in the Palestra for a big game.

The weather is just calling for snow showers at this point. It's too far out to predict. We'll know more by Friday.

I can't remember, does the Palestra use electronic scanners now on the tickets or do they still tear them? Reason for asking, if I buy one off the street I don't want to be worried about a fake - if it's fake and I don't have a legit seat but am still in the building I won't care. I might just wait to buy until after the tip and see what kind of deal I can get. If they use the scanners it may not be worth taking the chance.

I know the SJU season tickets holders complain about the same thing being pushed pretty far into the corners. Since this is the premium game of ther year maybe the sideline seats are given to families/big donors/recuits etc? I dunno.
I'm rolling 20+ deep Saturday, looking forward to it. I know the school is having a pregame party at Sliante but we always do the New Deck so we're sticking with that.
P.S. My ticket does not have a barcode on it.

In with five others. We have been texting/e-mailing about this for about a month now.
Stuff like "I'm bringing 20" and "Coming from 800 miles away" makes me believe this game is going to be like no other.

Slainte and New Deck will both be packed both pre and post game. Less crowded and better food is BBQ Blues (ask to play the dice game if you are sitting at the bar). Also Mikey's on Drexel campus is another watering hole that should have a smaller crowd. For those who don't mind walking, the Landmark Americana is the priciest of all but has the best food. If you haven't been to the Palestra in a couple of years you are in for a pleasant surprise when walking up to the entrance.

I'm in my 17th season of caring about La Salle basketball and I don't remember ever having an "I'm bringing 20 / I'm coming from 800 miles away" game. The optimistic side of me says new program, new interest. The side of me that remembers the 16 prior years says "you know how this is going to end".

Every time I attend the annual La Salle – SJU (PA) game, the Explorers fall apart. I take it personally, and feel I am the bad luck charm for this yearly matchup. Therefore, I will be doing the honorable thing this year and not attending. However, I will be participating in the annual polar bear plunge down the shore this weekend. I am thinking of dressing up as a Hawk fan and diving into the icy Atlantic. It should feel like a thousand knives striking my body or how I hope SJU (PA) fans feel after the Explorers win.

The 20-25 of us that graduated together have this date on the calendar where we can all meet up every year. The small majority of us that are still single and live in the area go to almost every home game together.
The 8 years we have been following the program has been a lot kinder than the 10 prior to that and we know that. I think the "same old la salle" mantra is dying thankfully.
I hope there are more front runner fans that come to the games and start supporting the program. I find it really awkward that I'm ususally 1 of about 5 people under the age of 40 at any booster club event.

I've attended arguably the two most thrilling LS v SJU games of the last dozen years. The Marvin O'Connor 18 points-in-1-minute game of 2001 and the "whistle blower" game of 2008. I also attended the Blowout win in the A10 tourney over the Hawks in 1999 (or was that 2000?). At the same time, I had the misfortune of attending the awful loss at the new Hagan Arena Rodney's senior year when Kimmani played on one leg, last year's debacle and the blowout loss to Nelson and West when SJU was #1. I can't decide if I'm good or bad luck but I don't have a ticket at this point so who knows if I'll be there. The fact that it's on TV tempts me to stay home and scream at my television but experiencing this in person, win or lose, will likely be unforgettable.

The first few minutes before the game when everyone is filing in and the introductions alone will be worth the $35. An early run followed by a Martelli TO, some nasty Ramon dunk, a repeat Sam Mills performance -- all of those will just make that place ridiculous.
I really can't wait to see the amount of gold in the crowd. The 2008 Whistle Blower game (I LOVE that name for it) was a great atmosphere. But this is something different.

I have to say, our player intro video is really pretty awesome. My dad went to the PSU game with me and really hates anything that has to do with making a basketball game about anything more than just the game itself, but he was really impressed by that video.
I really only want to go for the pre-game build up and then run and hide and just have someone tell me the score after it's over. At this point I almost kind of miss the days of awful hoops when I didn't really care about the outcome as much because win or lose was of a minor consequence. Don't get me wrong I've always loved La Salle hoops, but at this point, with so much success already and potential to break through and reach a point I honestly thought we may never see again I can barely watch the games anymore. These next 7 games are going to be some of the worst nights of my life...I love it!

Just got our student tickets from the ticket office. We're up to Section 209 Row 11 at this point.
Favor to ask: Anyone not going to the game, could you please record the game?
