6"8 power forward Mike Kobani is visiting La Salle next weekend. He is from High Point Christian Academy in North Carolina. Top 200 player on a lot of lists. Would be a great get.

I'll take anybody with size right now. Seems like we're putting an awful lot of this season's hopes and dreams on the development of Steve Zack

Would he be part of next year's class? Also, just wondering if you know who else is involved.

ESPN has him listed as 6'6", is that a mistake on their part?

ESPN has him listed as 6'6", is that a mistake on their part? I have seen him from 6"9 to 6"6. I suspect the truth is in the middle, 6"7 or 6"8. Make no mistake he is a physical specimen and the kind of kid that usually goes BCS. I read that Wake Forest has some interest but some of their fans thought he was too mechanical and not athletic enough. He has played well at some spring and summer events. I believe Western Kentucky is a school that is involved and perhaps UNC-Greensboro as well but I am not positive if this is true or if other high level schools are involved.

Let's hope for 6'8".
6'6" at around 220 sounds a lot like Rohan Brown to me, albeit Kobani may have a different skill set. Regardless, I don't bet against Giannini in spotting talent. Let's lock him up.

Can any poster give us an evaluation of Rohan's skills. I've never seen one nor seen him play. Thanks!

Can any poster give us an evaluation of Rohan's skills. I've never seen one nor seen him play. Thanks! I haven't seen him play either, so hopefully someone else can elaborate more. From what I've read from his high school days, he crashes the boards and plays hard. I'm not sure where his offensive game is at, but so long as he can be an inside presence for us we don't really need him to put up points. I'm not expecting him to put up much in terms of points.

Northstar puts him just out of their top 150 for the class of 2013. They also list him at 6'7" from Caldwell Academy in NC. If he has a PF skill set he sounds like a great target.

Not sure how Kobani's visit went but G's main target visited last weekend. A similar size, PF, also from North Carolina? Big from Hargrave? Local swing forward?

You are not worthy. This nonsense goes on all the time with posters who want to either wish to show tha they "are in the know" or spend a small fortune on recruiting sites and do not wish to share.. My request is stop the teasers. calsufan, you should have leaned by now.

Sorry wincola but it is what it is. I was asked not to give the name out and I am respectful enough to follow those iwshes as was asked.
I gave everyone Mike Kobani because it was public and I will share everything that I can when I find out stuff and expect everyone else would do the same for me and others on this board. When it is public that is one thing but when it is in confidence it is another.
Bottom line is what I gave is more than what anyone knew previously. And it is really just because I was asked not to give the name out right now because it is not puiblic yet that I have seen.
I can keep quiet on names that I can't give until it is public if that works better for everyone. There are others on this board who know the name but they also have not said a word either.

I read Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Georgetown, So. Miss. and some others were involved but I do not know what degree.

The players I was referring to are 6'7'' PF Tyrek Coger from Upper Room Christian Academy (love the name of the school), 6'9" C/PF Neveill Fincher from Hargrave Military and 6'6" wing Jerimiah Worthem from Phila. All have been mentioned as possible targets on free sites and message boards. I have zero inside information but I love recruiting gossip.

I don't think La Salle is involved heavily with any of those three at the moment. Worthern has Robert Morris, Wagner, Stoney Brook and Siena on his list. Fincher visited Old Dominion a couple of weeks ago but I have not seen anything on LaSalle being involved with any of these guys recently.

There's a tangible in his post which matters more than the actual name to 99% of La Salle followers. We're chasing a big, that's what matters. The kid's name is a lesser deal since almost none of us follow national HS basketball.

Misterd, that's exactly what 88 said-"I know something, but I can't say what". clsu, this was in no way a jab at you. My only point is just keep it to yourself if you have been asked not to divulge details. I'm wetting my pants over the fact that we're chasing a big.

So because what I said doesn't fit your preference no one else should know the kid is a 6"11 kid with BCS interest and took a visit to La Salle two weekends ago? For some that is information they would like to have and I shared all I could give.

No, he said "I know something you don't know and here's the part of it I can tell you". Which, atleast to a poster like me, is nice to read. I like knowing we have a 6'11 kid atleast mutually interested enough to visit. I don't really need to know his name, or even his initials, because two years ago the name "Jerrell Wright" meant nothing to me beyond other people's excitement.

Question please: If a student-athlete makes an official visit to campus, is there any secret to it? I am asking because I really do not know. Thanks.
