I hope anyone and or all who attend will post any news to come out of the tournament. Sometimes work gets in the way of attending events like this.

A few things.
Raft is still as hilarious as ever.
The AD thinks portal transfers will want to go to La Salle based on its renovated facilities. Still no discussion or presentation on what those will be. Also highlighted Supreme Court case and paying athletes as something new that could help us, if I heard him correctly, since he seems to have a strategy. We'll see. I see us getting further in the hole on that one since we have no major boosters like P5 schools to bankroll this and can't bankroll (over like eight years) the back end of a major gift for a reno.
Raft is not a fan of the portal or paying players. Had some empathy for Ben Simmons; interesting commentary.
Ash looks like he will fill the 13th 'ship with a PG. Could not give details but seems like a transfer. Look for bat signal in a week.

He is committing June 26th. He does have a pedigree and lists some good programs. Not sure how involved they still are. I don't understand all of these guards but perhaps his thinking is get what you can and with the new rules of transferring you can sort it out later.

Seton Hall or Georgetown seems much more likely.

The AD thinks portal transfers will want to go to La Salle based on its renovated facilities. Still no discussion or presentation on what those will be. Does anyone realistically think this will be green-lit given the current financial state of the school and the interim leadership? I know they are trying not to lose the donation, but what are they telling recruits about the to-be facilities? Seems this would have been a good forum to start to publicly talk about the plans.

If this isn't being paid for by the endowment and through donations why wouldn't it happen?

Are there enough donations? Can't be sure until final announcement but I was always was under belief they have been approaching the biggest hitters on this since the gift was received. What is crazy is the AD would say this and still everyone outside a select few remain the dark.

He has not impressed me since he was hired. He talks a good game like winning championships but never reveals how he will help coaches win. I like to know his plan to pay athletes and remodel Gola when La Salle has money problems.

He felt there was no one besides Jig who could play 1 and he was uncomfortable with what would ensue of Jig had foul trouble, illness or worse a big injury. IMO if that were to occur, teams would pressure us to death and make for a disappointing year. Upward trajectory plans, with downside protection for injury, and job preservation.

Coach posted BELIEVE on his IG account. That's it. Not "It's a great day to be an Explorer". Just BELIEVE. Which leads me to BELIEVE that either..A. Khalil is going to be playing at 20th and Olney... B. Ground was broken on a new basketball facility...or C. Ash was selected to be on the Search Committee to make it an even 20 committee members.

Khalil Brantley was one of Ash's top prospects he was recruiting and would be a big pickup but we will see. Couple questions for those that attended...
Any words on Nickleberry? They are very high on him and they sold him on La Salle to be the IT player. It was just a matter of his health but I haven't heard anything lately.
Is Marrero redshirting?
Overall, reviewing the roster seems like there will be a lot of competition this summer and fall.

Hard to tell until he is no campus with team whether is is top 100 level talent or another Dave Beatty 4 star but am hoping the former without a solid basis I think Marreo is on campus and folks are impressed with his shooting skills. Will see how that works in A10 but it is encouraging

Multiple players with pretty much the same skill set, getting about 20 minutes or less a game with no continuity on the court, and not one player averaging more than 10 pts a game? Didn't work out well.

Thanks 23won guess we will have a better idea on his health when he gets to campus, just wasn't sure if there was an update. If he is healthy Nickleberry completely changes the trajectory of this upcoming season. Obviously, HS ranking aren't always right but he was a top 50 recruit when he committed to Louisville and the was offered by some of the best programs in the country which speaks for itself. Hard to find many transfers of his caliber that we landed. Expect him to start day 1. I've heard some positive things as well about Marrero which I think I posted in another thread. He's a recruit that went under the radar and had a really solid year. His size is the concern so he'll need to hit the weight room. sweat83 it's a valid concern but usually every program uses their 13 scholarships difference is barely any transfers have to sit out this season. Often times when Ash tried to go 10 or 11 deep it seemed to overcomplicate things for him. It's just very difficult to do that and I wouldn't expect that to be the case. He seemed to change his philosophy with that and started benching players as opposed to putting them in for 10 mins. Early on that was partly because roles weren't defined and the team had so many new pieces and rotations. Now you know Brickus is gonna run the point, Moore going to play inside but has the ability to shoot, Ray the glue guy, Kenney and Clark were your shooters. These guys have now all played with one another for a bit so there should be some big improvements. I would expect to see the following line up this season: Brickus Kenney Nickleberry Clark Moore Ray Gill Doucoure Izay Marrero, Shepherd and Ward will probably play little to no minutes. I can't imagine Izay plays that much either unless he significantly improved.

Good analysis, but I like Ash's approach in filling the team out to the max. It helps in-practice scrimmages to have quality v quality. He has to improve on minutes distribution, but he is ahead of last year in that he has a core group that he can rely on.
IMO Marrero & Shepherd will play into getting 10 mpg by season's end. Mamadou may help more than folks think. No inside info here, just a gut feel.

It’s a good situation to be in with this many solid players and recruits. It’s going to be interesting to see how teams manage their rosters with so many players not having to sit out.
I think it’s just going to be hard for Shepard and Marrero to find minutes. They both had really good seasons last year and most likely would be elsewhere if they hadn’t committed to La Salle early on. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised at the seasons end if one of them is playing 10-15 minutes by the seasons end.
Besides the tape, I’ve only read and heard things 2nd hand from the staff regarding Marrero but as I mentioned I heard that song and dance before.
I would expect Moore and Doucoure to split minutes in the front court. They have very different skill sets that will only help.
All in all we shall see but I’m pretty hype about how the rosters shaping out. Fingers crossed for tomorrow! #Believe
