Mullin was an unmitigated disaster. He had no interest in really coaching. Once a season was over he would head back to San Francisco.
I like Ewing. I hope he will get it turned around. They had the run this year to get the auto. He was an assistant for 15 years in the NBA.
Penny coached HS and AAU. He has recruited well and won an NIT. Let’s see if they trend up. Season ticket sales went thru the roof with him too
Legler has coached only AAU. Done TV. Who said he crushed the interview? Is that his opinion?

Legler is not helping himself here. Why burn bridges, especially at La Salle? If Ash doesn't work out he is not helping his case for La Salle to look at him under any circumstance (no coaching experience or getting experience and applying for a job down the line).
For a smart guy he isn't being smart here. Pride sometimes overtakes the brain.

blatant lies from legler:
1) la salle was not very good when he got there. that is a load of horseshit. la salle’s basketball pedigree was there long before he showed up on campus. prior to him coming, the all-time record was 847-461 for a 64.8 winning percentage. not too shabby.
2) bottom 5 in the a10 every single year. la salle hasn't done well overall in the a10 but his statement is false.
3) he “crushed” the interview. sure you did tim.
4) bill bradshaw was “starstruck” by jay wright calling to endorse ashley. what a slap in the face to bradshaw.
5) trashed mullin’s, hardaway’s and ewing’s lack of coaching experience while he “actually coached". Yeah, low-level AAU team's that weren't part of the sneaker circuit. i think he coached maybe 1-2 division one level players in aau ball. he forgets that ewing was a nba assistant for 13 years. The other difference is all 3 were perennial nba all-stars and not a journeyman who bounced from team to team.
6) la salle hasn’t been a .500 team any of the last 3 years. wrong.
the one truthful thing he said to end that segment was he finally seems to realize he won’t be getting a college head coaching job.
If la salle ever makes a coaching change, I hope he doesn't even get an interview.

The interview was at the Schwarzwald Inn.

Why throw any shade? Keep your mouth shut and keep looking forward.

was looking at that olney fans twitter page and saw a link to a recent podcast with jensen from the inquirer. obviously the facility being a big issue was talked about but i was surprised at some of his comments about this coming year's team.
he feels they have solid talent and a chance to be an upper-level a10 team. the other thing he said that surprised me is he heard that kimbrough was expecting to transfer to rutgers but they didn't offer him so he asked about coming back to la salle and they said no. personally glad that ashley took that stance. jensen felt that mamadou will at least replace the numbers kimbrough put up.

I don't understand Jensen's saying the Gola arena "just doesn't hold water." Isn't there a 6 lane swimming pool on the first floor?

This is all deeply embarrassing. Imagine the fun we'd have if some St. Joseph's of PA grad AAU coach was whining he and only he should be handed their head coaching job next.

Jameer whined. He also played in the nba for 15 years and was national player of the year. Tomato, tomato.

The Kimbrough bit fits nicely in this salty, burning bridges thread given his Twitter posts starting right after A10 exit.
