Jordon Rooney --31 years old -- self-made / self-promoter " Influencer "-- his two NIL - related companies, Built DifferentCreative and Slash Athletes have only been in existence for 18 months or less.
Bad move IMO for both Rooney and Duquesne. Rooney's better off being an arms-length consultant, vendor or independent contractor, rather than an " on staff " coach ( employee of Duquesne University ). Conversely, could also give rise to possible liability exposure for Duquesne if Rooney and his companies were to be sued for breach of contract by his other clients
I see potential conflict of interest issues looming on the horizon. Is Rooney just using this ( probably short-term ) Duquesne " on staff " brand coaching gig to burnish his ' NIL ' agent's / consultant's Resume ?

If you are a Marketing major at Duquesne (which my daughter is), you have to choose from one of 3 specializations: Sports Marketing, Professional Selling & Marketing or Digital Marketing & Analytics. I told her it could be an interesting time to get in on the ground floor of this and learn how it works with someone right in the Athletic Department, and kind of combine the Digital Marketing with the Sports Marketing.
