Sanford School's Brandon Dwyer commits to La Salle as a preferred walk-on. I can't believe glorydays didn't break this from his home state!

Looks like a stationary shooter with nice form. I wonder if he can dribble and shoot? There's only about 23 people in Delaware, what's the skinny on him Glorydays?

Looks like a stationary shooter with nice form. I wonder if he can dribble and shoot? There's only about 23 people in Delaware, what's the skinny on him Glorydays? glorydays was watching the NFL draft and missed this completely. Hey, I watched 3 Sanford games this year online (2 against Salesianum and one against Smyrna in the title game.) Billy Hahn once referred to DE HS Bball as farm ball. I know what you know... Look there is no skinny. The young man is a walk on from a DE HS Bball championship team that was dominated by Nnanna Njoku. (I don't see Nnanna being a big impact player at Nova.) My knowledge of basketball rates with my knowledge of nuclear physics. The one player with a DE connection that I would have liked to have seen Ash get was UD's Dylan Painter as a Grad transfer but Painter is obviously happy finishing out his career in the CAA. Delaware now has 991,000 people not counting the 23 that calsufan mentioned. This is the state where the greatest basketball player of all time is Elena Delle Donne. One thing is that Coach Howard has developed a network of relationships here in DE down to the CYO level. I am hoping that it pays off before I hit Cathedral Cemetery. That's enough. Now time for a nap. For the record, bedtime is usually 930PM.

Just a reminder, I too am from Delaware and a Salesianum graduate as well. I don't participate in twitter, instagram, facebook or follow any of the recruiting websites so, I too, did not know about this young man. I will disagree with Glorydays regarding the Villanova signee from Sanford. I think he will contribute and wish we had a chance to bring him into LaSalle.

There are some additional highlights on the MaxPreps and HUDL website. 6-3, and has a nice consistent outside shot. You never know... I was just going to write about Maxpreps. He is a standstill 3pt specialist. Played in all 19 games and averaged 8pts. Was 44-95 from 3 (46%) and 13-22 inside the arc. 76% of shots were from 3. Naturally he didn't get to the line much shooting 12-16 (75%). Averaged 2 rebounds and generally less than one assist, steal and block per game. From the clips I saw he has a beautiful shot and can step back to NBA line. Make no doubt about it, he will have little playing time but because it is clear that Ash wants more three point shooters, I can see him getting situational minutes. He can't hurt. I like this even if he gives us 30-60 minutes this season. Welcome to La Salle Brandon. I hope you have a wonderful experience.

We may have even been the first to speak on the phone and visit in the home. In the end recruiting against Nova is tough especially when they are so close to his home.

DiVincenzo was a big time Delaware hoops star. True. Saw him play at Salesianum probably 30 times. Truly, Donte is the greatest redheaded Italian basketball player of all time. Coach G gave Donte his first college offer before Donte’s JR year in HS. Elena is the leading scorer in DE HS Bball history, has an Olympic gold medal, was MVP in the WNBA and won a WNBA title.

I've never heard of the term preferred walk on. My La Salle intramural basketball performance would have definitely made me a non-preferred walk on

My La Salle intramural basketball performance would have definitely made me a non-preferred walk on my intramural tram should have played yours. 10 honors program guys, only 3 of us had ever played any level of basketball before. Our starting center wore jeans to the first game.

Looks like a stationary shooter with nice form. I wonder if he can dribble and shoot? There's only about 23 people in Delaware, what's the skinny on him Glorydays? glorydays was doing his OWG workout at Hockessin Athletic Club early this morning. About 530AM, I spotted a young man wearing La Salle gear in the midst of a Rocky Balboa type workout. When he stopped to take a breath, I introduced myself. It was Brandon Dwyer. Good kid. I don't know if the kid will see the floor at all but he was into a serious work out. He is on a short break from campus. He says he loves La Salle and Coach Ash. OK, so now we have the Irish Rocky Balboa. Best luck to the young man & Go Explorers! PS. Connecting the dots...I realize that I know the young man's grandfather.

Brandon game on the highlights remind of Steve Alford when he was at Indiana University pick and pop or pick and roll player. He need player to create his shot from the highlights. He might need some work to create his shot off the dribble. Best of luck for Brandon Dwyer. P.S Bone Hyland from VCU came from the state of Delaware and was a first round pick in this NBA draft and future NBA all star check out his NBA summer league highlights. The future of Delaware basketball.

I don’t think dog was implying that Brandon was in the class of Donte or Bones. I think the juxtaposition of the sentences either confuse you or you are reading a lot into it.
Here is my take - the kid could play right away at Neumann, Rowan, Goldey-Beacom, or the W schools - Wilmington, Widener, West Chester or Washington (in Chestertown, MD). Yet, he chose to pursue the challenges at this level. Way under for being the next Donte or Bones; over for accepting the challenge.

Correction: I wasn’t comparing Brandon to Bone Hyland. I mainly was stating that Bone Hyland is the future of all basketball player from the state of Delaware. There no comparison with Brandon and Bone, Bone is the better overall player than Brandon. I hope that Brandon work hard to earn a basketball scholarship from Coach Ash. Thank you.

Bones is incredibly frail. I would add so was Jerry West but I ain’t making that comparison….
