Hope Ash knows what he is doing here. He hasn't been very productive in his career. Big body though.

Interesting. He was a Top 150 (but not Top 149) recruit but hasn't done much of anything since his freshman year.

Interesting. He was a Top 150 (but not Top 149) recruit but hasn't done much of anything since his freshman year. back in 2017 he was 4 star rated. At this point looks like the best to expect might be a big inside body for Izay to practice against.

Is he a grad transfer? Does he have 2 years eligibility? I would love to see Ash bring in a PG, especially one with a little size who can play off the ball with Jig. No real backup currently unless you see Kenny as a PG.

Sounds like the second coming of Moustapha Diagne. Hope fully I am wrong and that he will clean the glass.

He graduates next month. Not sure how it can be 2 seasons. This was a free season for everyone. I think anyone who was an NCAA athlete when COVID hit basically got a free season.

We have 3 scholarships left. Need an impact scorer in the program.

I watch alot of B1G basketball and I've got nothing on him. Rutgers had their top two bigs transfer in the last two seasons and he is transferring to La Salle isn't a ringing endorsement. La Salle does need bodies though and maybe he just didn't feel like he was ever going to get a chance at Rutgers. Hopefully it works out.

Guy was a highly rated recruit with multiple high major offers. What else could we want for this program? Good job from Ash hopefully the kid taps into the potential many of the high majors saw from him in high school.

If only he'd gone to St. Joseph's of PA, we could focus on untapped potential or something.

I watched half dozen RU games and recall they ran a primary 6-8’ and under focused rotation. Two bigs played one spot but weren’t a big factor in the system iirc.
Duke was third in that lineup so saw little time. Hope he can help us and benefit from a change of scenery. Came from a good team (had Houston beat and if they won could have made F4) and a good coach so the fundamentals should be there.

Let's hope this 4 star transfer tracks a lot better than Beatty (SEC to La Salle to NC A&T).
Gotta imagine he'd be good for 6 rebounds and some post defensive presence. Not looking for a lot of offensive production, but if he and Tegra could help Cliff against teams that run two bigs, that would help.
Like 88 said though, we have other needs where prime time A10 skills are needed - IMO, two scorers and a PG with some height

If Ash can pull Earlington, I'd be impressed. Should be able to make 3s, draw bigs out of the lane (to help Jig and Sherif finish) and should be a good defender (can't rmember him per se but the team was taught good D and played good D). This would be huge.

Andrew Slater @andrew__Slater · 1m 6’9” Rutgers transfer Mamadou Doucoure @mamadoubb11 will transfer to La Salle University @lasalle_MBB with @coachashhoward . I would consider this more of La Salle "swings" in the transfer portal. Not ready to call it a hit yet. Far from that on the surface.

Out of 1,200 or more player in the transfer portal this year and Mamadou Doucoure is the best we can do in the portal. Hopefully I'm wrong on Mamadou Doucoure, but we need more shooter to spread the opposing defense out to give Jig and Kennedy to operate (one on one or pick and roll). We already have Moore, Ray, and Izay for our front court. I hope Mamadou Doucoure prove me wrong in this upcoming season.
