I'm sure Phil felt he had a job for life at St. Joe's. Can't fault Shaka for leaving...your job is really only as safe as the next administration's desire for change. Phil had trended down overall his last 10 years when compared to the ten years prior. True he had some good years, but all in all it looked like his trajectory was heading south. The fans were getting restless and IIRC correctly Phil tried forcing the school to give him an extension. His power play didn't work out and he was let go. He thought he had a job for life because he was reading his past press clippings. His being shown the door was more his own doing than the new administration. He won the A10 tournament in 2014 and 2016. That's a heck of a way to trend downward.

Phil and their new AD did not see eye to eye, for sure.

He had some good years as I acknowledged, but again if you take the win percent for his last 10 years and compare it to the previous 10 years he trended down. Both happened and I acknowledged as such so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

We are going to have to hear Bill Walton say "It's the conference of champions," all week in discussing the Pac-12's showing in the Dance.

As much as I hate to hear him say it, he's speaking the truth...Pac 12 teams showed up big time. Smallest margin of victory...10 points. Going into weekend #2, looking to see a final 4 matchup between Nova and 'Cuse take shape. It's a a bit of a longshot, but would be cool to see 2 former BE rivals meet up again on the big stage...

I guess the pac 12 is the conference of champions. I still believe that Bama lost the game at the foul line.

The "oh by the way" just buried me out of a reverse and straight bet.... Houston -7 loses after steamrolling Oregon State in the 1st half. You can't tell me this shit isn't suspicious.

I'm not one of these guys that think the game is fixed. But it's funny at times... these oh by the way threes burn me way more than they help.

I don't see anybody beating the Zags... they are going to go wire to wire. I took the Zags minus 9 tonight. Expected them to romp. I am not touching other game....my gut says Michigan covers but who knows. I have two brackets going in different pools. One has Gonzaga and one has Michigan.

Drew Timme looks like a bit of a hotdog. Good player, but annoying.

Well, it's #1 vs #2.... the banks are open on Easter weekend. Catholics vs. Baptists Monday night. Go Zags!

That's probably the best game I've seen in several years. They traded punches all game long and it came down to a crazy buzzer beater. The Bruins gave the Zags everything they could handle and then some. What a game!

I think two players solidified/upped their draft status tonight-Suggs and Juzang. Both are fantastic. And Timme is old-school tough.
