So the first 500 students on Saturday are getting a poster that reads "Keep Calm and Cheer On."
Can somebody please explain to me what that means exactly?

Keep Calm & Carry On was a British Propoganda message during WW2 to keep the citizens focused on a positive outlook despite impending aerial attacks on major cities that would be forthcoming. It had minimal distribution and was re"-discovered" a while back and turned into a bit of a popular slogan and many variations of it were designed as a play on words.
I prefer "Keep calm and Explore on" as a better fit for a campaign like this. A play on words of both the aforementioned Keep Calm & Carry On and the "Never Stop Exploring" slogans.

I think it's a nod to popular website thechive.com which is very popular among college aged people

Luhoopsfan is correct. The "Keep Calm on Carry On" thing has become a big college thing. I'd bet if you went in to dorms right now, there would be a ton of those posters, and various spin offs of that same theme.

Our college poster was the Body by Bud where the fat guy was taking off his shirt standing by the keg. It was a play on words from the Body by Soloflex poster with the in shape guy taking off his shirt by the Soloflex. What is it with these college kids getting all sophisticated:)

Saturday against Fordham is our only home game at Gola this month.
Can the Explorers go 7-1 to close out A-10 regular season play? That would be a 22-7 record heading into the A10 Tourney in Brooklyn. As of now Saint Louis appears to be the toughest opponent and that game is away.
