This seems very short sighted. You don't move down to cut costs, because you will be cutting revenue even moreso. I'd expect them to reverse course and jobs to be lost over this one.
So this is where I'm at, but there has to be something we don't know. Their president was a college athlete. Their board's chair might be related to the family that formerly owned the Hartford Whalers? Their board's vice chair works for the NBA.
(I sense the sarcasm) but I think it is not official until like 2025, so the better question is how the hell do they recruit the next few years.
Recruit transfers who won’t be there when the move happens. Or recruit the highest level D3 guys you can find with the caveat - your first two or three years you will have a scholarship, play D1, and if we stick together we compete for a D3 national title. The thing is though the best D3 players tend to go to really high academic schools like Williams and Johns Hopkins
