I'm going to start this to handle any transfers that occur in the next little bit. I'd put your Jared stuff here.
Quite frankly, I knew we were going to lose more people and I expect a couple more. And that is ok. Sometimes it just isn't going to work out and thats fine. There will be transfers in and new recruits. And guys get recruited over.
Happens everywhere. Not the end of the world.

Agreed. I don't like the talent in the program. There is no one that could leave that would devastate and already struggling program like we have. We all have our favorites. Almost all programs are going to be hit with transfers. The issue is whether Ash can identify real talent and put together a competitive team. He is not going anywhere but there is going to be mass player movement.

What I see as a major problem for the non power 5/Big East schools is the other DI conferences becoming a farm system for the big guys. Players transferring due to lack of playing time is expected but now teams have to worry about losing their best players too. Playing time won't be enough to satisfy players drawn to the big stage where every game is televised and the cost of attendance money is many times what they can get at smaller schools. It's going to get increasingly difficult to build a program.

Nothing insider, the opposite if anything, but I wonder what effect (if any) Kenny Johnson leaving had. We know he had a rep as a top recruiter so I wonder if any of the kids who have already left or are leaving were more "his" guys.

O/U 7.0 (and i'm taking the over) Damn that is high. We are talking total rebuild if that is the case. If this were to happen, La Salle would be crazy to not find a way to part ways with Ash. We would need to go through it again when the next coach came in. If we have that many, Ash needs to go.

O/U 7.0 (and i'm taking the over) If it's this, and it continues to be this, we will NEVER be able to establish a program, we will ALWAYS be rebuilding, and we will ALWAYS be young. This program will be a turnstile.

O/U 7.0 (and i'm taking the over) Are you counting the two that left midseason? If they lose 7, La Salle is in trouble and they should ask the coach what is up.

Do Stone and Hikim count toward the 7? What about Beatty and Spencer as seniors?

Even so, that's 5 transfers... that's a huge, rape scandal of 04 type amount, that's a total rebuild. We'd be 2 years away from being 2 years away.

I don't want to mention names but I can see two guys moving up. Whether that's a good move for them is another question.

i think there's only 2 guys (maybe 3) i'd be bummed to see leave
can't blame anyone for wanting a change of scenery given the state of the world and the state of our program.
you're most likely to get buy-in from people who understand what is being asked of them. as bad as our x's and o's were, i believe the biggest failure in our coaching this season is that it was obvious no one knew what was expected of them

O/U 7.0 (and i'm taking the over) If this doesn't include Stone and Hikim and 7 more leave, there's an even bigger issue afoot. I have no insider information at all, but even 5 more leaving would be huge. Anything over 3 more leaving (not including Beatty and Spencer) and this team will probably be seeing a new coach after next year.

Someone please answer this question for me. Why we don't recruit JUCO player to help the program win more game. JUCO player is more develop and have more experience than the average High School basketball recruit. For example Javonte Perkins from St.Louis (16.9ppg, 2.1apg and 3.8reb) is a perfect example of a well rounded JUCO player. Ash might need to recruit JUCO player to fill in the void for next year.

Does anyone see this is a desirable destination? Ed, Jared gone. Ayinde and Stone from his next class. Beatty and Spencer have to be out. This is a pretty significant exodus in terms of numbers.

Roaddog can you post your Hudl link here for us to review and decide if we want to support the recruiting of you? Mark Schmidt does the same thing. He finds players wherever they are hiding. JUCO, CC, mid majors, D3. I don’t care where you find them. Just find them (disclaimer: Ash might have found some, but is not good at coaching them).

You're entitled to this consistent opinion, 88. I just want to remind you where we are. This is a place that "never misses a transfer" when they leave us for better, then obsessively follows their stats forever. You also said the same thing about the women's transfer who ended up not only transferring up, but starting every game for Ohio state and second on the team in made three pointers. (I am cursed with a photographic memory and cannot forget that you famously said that.) Still don't think she could have helped us that year we finished 6-25? Ohio State was 10-8 in the Big ten. Then again, you might have been only being sarcastic, I can never tell. If we lose 3 or 4 guys, we only have to hope that it is while coach has lined up their replacements.

Who’s dwelling on transfers? Ed Croswell didn’t average 2 points. 2 rebounds and 23% FTs in 7 minutes a game.
What’s concerning is there are so few bigs, and the bigs continue to leave.

So..looking at next year's roster (assuming the seniors don't stay):
Seniors: Moore, Lafond Juniors: Clark, Kenney, Ray, Thompson Sophomores: Brickus, Gill, Izay, Ward
That's 6 guys who had regular game experience. Who is our captain/leader in that group? Who gets the ball with the game on the line?

Game on the line, Clark and Brickus would be my picks from there.
