Anybody else hate the 8 day layoff until the finals? I understand that the A10 chose to shorten the season and play their tournament with the low majors, but all that can happen during the week layoff are bad things. Either rust, or somebody catches covid, or somebody is exposed to covid. Both teams are in Richmond, let them play now.

(I should caveat that with “for career purposes”. I’m sure there’s comp considerations that would make it completely worthwhile for a 58 year old.)

That’s the assumption I made.

So from a league standpoint, I guess we root for VCU right? Lunardi has them as a "Last 4 Bye" and St. Bonaventure as a 10, so VCU winning seems our best bet to definitely getting 2 in. For what it's worth, he's got SLU in his next 4 out, but with no ability to help themselves moving forward.

For personal reasons though, I'll be thrilled if Sean Neal and SBU gets the championship.

Yeah I wonder how that’s gonna work. All the big conferences will be playing their tournaments. They’d need to find someone else in a similar position to them- a team that thinks they’re just on the outside of the bubble but one win would put them over the top. Are their any MVC teams that would fit that bill? I know they finish up their tournament today.
I can’t see any team that’s got anything to lose scheduling that game. Likewise, I don’t see a team with nothing to gain doing it either. It’s a small pool of teams I’d imagine.

Penn Stete would be a good move. BC would be a stupid move. If I’m Schmidt then I’m choosing Olean over Chestnut Hill. Schmidt played at BC BC pays about 700K more than Bona BC pays about 400K more than PSU

Very curious to see if this board will collectively agree that you can't sustainably win at BC ...

I hold Schmidt in very high regard considering what he did at bonnies and previously. However, you'd need to give someone like him AT LEAST 4 years to see progress because he needs to get his system going, figure out the recruiting at that level, right now he is great at poaching JUCO/CC transfers, Canadians, or lower mid major transfers. At BC you need a little more talent to compete in their conference and those JUCO and CC transfers become A10/Horizon League/MW starters or CAA first team type guys. Definitely is an adjustment, not sure the school admin and alumni have patience for that. They'll probably go with a bigger name with less of a track record who will also presumably stumble.

From out here in Tucson, it looks likely Sean Miller is going to be available.

Yeah this is assuming he’s not going to get sanctioned. Dude can coach.

I'm guessing you're all about Bones Hyland today and VCU winning. Wondering how thelasallelunatic is playing today's game.

The Bonnies players except Osunn showed no class at all...a terrible display of sportsmanship

How many straight years is it where the multi-bid A-10 was totally looking at only one bid?

Not sure if this will get a lot of play nationally, but if I was this video dude I would have gone down swinging (and I don't care if the kid was breaking the rules). Eff that security guard. Bad look for the A10

Bad look for the A10 Kid was a University of Dayton senior. Dayton security guard vs Dayton student: Dayton on Dayton crime.
