There will be some fuzzy math here:
"Teams above 60 percent of the median number of conference games played by all 14 teams will be seeded by conference winning percentage. Teams below that 60 percent threshold will be seeded using the NCAA NET ranking, relative to all A-10 teams. Additionally, teams below the 60 percent threshold will not be eligible for the regular season title."

Their reasoning is bullshit. They’re protecting their at-large bids. That was my first thought...and also my thinking as to why they are shifting the schedules around in the last couple of weeks. Use the original week to get some extra games in for teams that have been sidelined. Either use the NET or, preferably, use the conference records and let the seedings fall where they may. This combo of the two is BS. |

I'm not scratching my head over this, because with so many teams on pause, they had to come up with some formula to avoid overvaluing teams that have not played all the games. I wonder what the provision will be for programs that find themselves ineligible to play when the tournament does begin. The unexplained last minute switch of just the final game to Dayton is a bit strange.

Based on their new math, only 2 teams are currently below the 60% of conference median games played: George Washington and St. Louis. Based on their NET rankings, this allows the league to move GW from 9th place to 12th (pushed us up to 11th), and SLU from 5th place to 2nd.
If all the remaining games the A10 currently has scheduled get played (use their website, not ESPN), then everyone falls above 60% and the NET doesn't come into play.

They're in a tough spot, so I don't fault them for doing something. The standings/NET thing is obviously a little clunky, but I don't mind it. I mean GW could end up being like 4-4 in the A-10 and being ahead of a team that goes 7-9. Doesn't seem right.
