If SLU wants to make a statement about their loss to us, this could turn into a 40 point loss.

It has to be hard to call a game where the outcome is decided at the 16 minute mark of the second half.

I lost the 2nd half over by a half point... should've been a foul on Jig in the final seconds. He bumped the kid twice, I guess the ref bet the second half under.

Time to press SLU's walk-ons. We've done this a few games now with our starters. I get making them play out and respecting the game, but I'd like them to show that same hustle before there are 3 minutes left in a blow out.

It was never about this year. Ash and the assistants are figuring out what they have this year. That is why no one has specific/defined roles yet. We will be an A10 contender next year and possible top 25 team. Our guys are getting the playing experience we need. Next year is the year Ash will show us why he was hired. This is what I was strongly thinking before the year. It wasn’t about this year....but now I question my previous beliefs....

Didn't see game, thank God, need update on how Clark played, easily the most disappointing player along with Moore on team! Was Howard there, was there any consequence for his unprofessional behavior last week?

You had to expect an ass kicking after beating them at home. We have no frontcourt. Can't defend the rim and can't rebound the ball against bigger teams.
Moore give us nothing. He has hit one clutch shot all year. Most games he is invisible. He is not going to get better. After 3 years in college basketball he is what he is....not very good. Another suspect Ash recruit.
Not sure what happened to Kenney last night. You can't have one of your better players play 12 minutes and give you zero points and 3 turnovers.
I just don't feel Ash has the Captain's control of the program. It just isn't there no matter how much I wish it was there.

Was Howard there, was there any consequence for his unprofessional behavior last week? You're not going to believe this, but not only was Howard not there, but La Salle was docked 22 points as a consequence for his unprofessional behavior last week. He cost us two games (so far) with one outburst!

Out of 21 games this season, we've shot more free throws than our opponents twice, and one of those games was the Lincoln game. Last night we shot 2-6 on foul shots. We shot 3 against Mason. With this offense, it it shoot threes and hope for the best. If we have a hot night from the arc, we will usually win. If not, it's usually a loss. We don't shoot the ball consistently enough from deep to play this way and win.

We had 5 assists last night (not counting the turnovers that led to 17 SLU points). That's not good basketball.

I am mystified by Jared Kimbrough. He's the Travis Fulgham of the Explorers. He looked like he'd found himself as a true force for a couple of games and then.......

I have to agree. For some reason he and the coaching staff believe he is a prolific three point shooter. Sorry, I just don't see it. It is my personal belief he can do more damage with his mid range jump shot (between 10 to 15 feet). He shot 50% from the field but 1 for 5 from three, and some of his points came against St. Louis's bench players, which by the way, show a lot of upside potential in the future.

I have much more confidence in Clark going forward than Moore. Moore is soft, not a great shooter, and not super skilled. He is coming off a redshirt year, so I expected it to take 5-10 games to get going. I think it's a lost cause at this point. Clark is coming off of 2 years post injury and has only played basketball at his current height for maybe a year or 2? He was like 6'4 or 6'5 going into his senior year. now probably close to 6'9? It's a much different game but also the psychological part of the two years with the knee injuries, I still give him a pass, he shows at least some hope.

Positive note: Izay had a career high in minutes and rebounds last night. Maybe he will be developing into a solid big for us.

Tuesday game against St. Louis, In my opinion; it seem like the team just gave up in the first 15 minutes of the first half (I just see about half of the first half on CBS). It just like every game; if they make their shot(mainly the three) they unbeatable, if they don't make their shot, we in trouble. We have a nice piece to build around for the future (Kennedy, Brickus, Clark, Ray, and Izay) but they need front court help for this team to succeed. Clifton Moore is not the answer for this team in the near future. Someone that played at Indiana University (Big Ten) and produce so little to the team (except the Dayton game). Moore should be a double double player every night, not letting the guard(Goodwin from St. Louis) out rebounding him. Jared Kimbrough just have to be more consistent with his all round play on the court. As long Ash correct the problem with the front court play, LaSalle will be a force in the A10.

Based on Ash's remarks at the zoom call last night, he seems to be very pumped up about how solid we are going to be next year. I did have to jump in and out of the call because grandfather duties but I heard Coach say something regarding the transfer portal like: I don't know if anybody is trying to recruit our players on not? I hope we can hold on to everybody & that we can practice through the summer so that we get off to a jump start next year. This group has some talent.

It will be interesting to see if Ash nudges guys like Moore, Beatty, Spencer, and Kimbrough to look elsewhere. I am not sure about Kimbrough because he seems to be respected as a great teammate and I think Ash likes him. We have no size so I am not sure what happens with him but his lack of minutes does cause me to hesitate.
If any of the others come back it will stunt the growth of this team. Guys like Brickus, Clark, Ray, Gill, and Kenney need to play more and play together. Izay is still a couple of year away and should see more back-up minutes.
Someone on the board told me earlier this week I wish we could recruit JUCO kids like a 6"9 250 kid with some offensive skills. He is so right. La Salle's decision to not let their coaching staff recruit more JUCO's gives teams like the Bonnies an advantage over La Salle with these types of kids. Their are some kids in those pools that could help La Salle if the administration let them attend. It is not going to happen but just food for thought.

Why wouldn't we recruit JUCO kids when we get lots of transfers anyway? La Salle is hurting for enrollment right now...they should be targeting JUCOs not just for sports, but for academics.
