Hats off to Ash and the squad. What a win!
It's been a rocky season at times but this team, coach and program are trending up. I've tried many times to make the case analytically and I'm glad it's finally showing up in some very good wins.
The team is starting to consistently improve in the areas we have criticized, rightfully so, but this team is maturing and starting to show some real potential. I'm sure there will be some more bumps along the way this season but I'm ecstatic about the future of this program.

Great win boys. David Beatty 22 points. SLU star trio of French-Goodwin-Perkins 27 total points. This loss could really negatively impact SLU's tourney chances and make them a 'first 4 out.'. Feels even better after having to deal with those SLU fans during the A-10 tourneys in Atlantic City. Pompous a-holes.

I swear this could the most maddening team in the whole conference. How did they somehow manage to beat Dayton and Richmond on the road along with St. Louis at home and get manhandled by UMASS and George Mason? Tonight was a glimpse of how good they have the potential to be.

Kenney ended 13-15 at the FT line. Great stuff there. Team ended 20-26 at the line, and even bigger held SLU to 21% at from 3pt land

SLU RPI dropped to 146 after this game. I expect their NET to take a similar tumble.

and even bigger held SLU to 21% at from 3pt land SLU was 23% against Dayton at 3-13. In their last two games, they have shot 7-32 for 22% from 3. Their opponents have shot 20-46 for 43.4%. Those are for/against crazy numbers from 3.Their month layoff really took a toll.

Kenney with 11 fouls drawn. Huge!
He slowed his FT process down and has developed a less rushed approach to FT shooting. Big improvement. I think someone on this board recommended this earlier this year. Maybe folks on the staff read this board.

For anyone’s viewing pleasure. Mostly mad at their own team, but plenty of being a piece of knob-cheese about La Salle. Hey, I get it, and I’d probably feel the same way about it if I was a fan of an upper echelon A-10 team (although I’d imagine I’d be less of a chooch about it), but I’m still gonna enjoy when we fuck up the season’s of the Daytons and SLU’s of the world, given that they never miss a turn to voice their opinions about us. www.billikens.com/forum/index.php?/topic/29794-gdt-a-10-revenge-tour-stop-1-explorers/

I no longer doubt if Ash is the right man for the job. Beating Dayton Richmond and now St Louis is IMPRESSIVE and not just luck. What's most admiring is in all three games we've lost the lead and managed to, right the ship, and take it back - when in years past (or previous coach) we play one good half and couldnt follow it up.
Beyond X's and O's, Ash has taught these men to play with confidence and expect to be winners. Really proud of the job he's doing and where he has this program going.

But for a few minutes I thought I was in Explorer Town with them blaming the refs and mad at the team chucking 3s. "Rims are looser than Pamela Anderson" gave me a chuckle.

Great win by the team. I was able to watch bits and pieces of the game and from what I saw, St. Louis is probably the most talented and athletic team in the A10. Best win of the year for us, no doubt. Team played hard for the full 40 minutes. No extended scoring lapses, and we got the Senior Leadership we've been lacking all year from DB tonight. Some thoughts.... No Spencer tonight...injured? Ash played 8 deep tonight. Didn't go crazy with the subs, and those on the floor appeared very confident all night. Brickus had an off night, and appears very frustrated by the Billiken defender. JB uses his no dribbling arm to fend off alot, and gets called for the O foul fairly frequently. Same when he drives for the basket. The calls are justified IMO. Jack looked very comfortable out there tonight. Agreed with an earlier poster....St. Louis started fouling WAY TOO early. We appeared a bit disoriented on the offensive end late in the game. I think STL would have been better off pressing, and taking their chances on the D end. DB, although he played very well tonight, I get a queasy feeling in my stomach whenever he is handling the ball.
That's it.

Not once even giving a little bit of credit to our efforts. Reading that forum just made this win that much better. I encourage it! Believe

Was there but not in uniform.

After years of living in St. Louis and being the Billikens fans whipping boy I burned through some phone calls and text messages tonight. Been a long time since I had STL Bragging rights! Hell of a win boys, lets keep it going against Fordham this weekend

I think the team and several players answered the questions in the positive that were proposed by 23won at the start of this thread. I was not able to see the game, but was wondering how we allowed 14 offensive rebounds for St. Louis? Can't allow the big Fordham center that kind of freedom in the paint on Saturday.

St. Louis NET rating dropped to 53 - below Bonnies, VCU, and Richmond. Likely OUT unless they either win the tourney or beat the Bonnies.

I enjoyed reading that "behind enemy lines" stuff.
Favorite quote was by someone who said " not easy being a Billiken fan...sigh" REALLY? Try being an Explorer fan.
They sure whine a lot about everything. I say if you need to whine about the announcer, video quality, commercials, camera angles you have BIGGER problems with your team.
Also on PG 13 someone is calling for Travis Ford to be fired. This is the from the city with the supposed Greatest and polite fans (maybe outside of Green bay who are also hypocrites.

I tend to take a look and their boards.
Dayton and Saint Louis fans are two fan bases I absolutely loathe outside rivalries with SJU and Temple.
But let me get to Dayton....they sh*t on us after our teams in 12 and 13 didn't sustain the success. Obviously they went ballistic after their loss to us and look at them now. How does Dayton go from being the #4 team in the country last year to barely being a top 100 team. I don't care how good Obi is that's not just pathetic but embarrassing.
Saint Louis gets a pass cause they can't help prevent having COVID issues. However, their pause was clearly mismanaged seeing how long it was and the nonsense with Richmond.

Tonight was a glimpse of how good they have the potential to be. Anything is possible in the Covid World with teams not playing for weeks and no fans in the stands... ok Twilight Zone moment... how many of us wanted to play games in these hostile environments with no fans? The closest we came in the past was the couple games during winter break. Saint Louis will never recover from their time off... and it would be strange to see teams playing less than 20 games in the tourney.
