NET rankings to start the month. Lunardi has 2 A10 teams getting in- Bonnies and SLU, with Richmond and VCU in the First 4 Out. I think a Billikens loss to us bumps them out of bracket contention. VCU can solidify their chances with wins over SLU and Richmond this month. St. Bonaventure | 35 | St. Louis | 36 | VCU | 44 | Richmond | 56 | Davidson | 64 | Rhode Island | 77 | Dayton | 83 | UMass | 117 | Duquesne | 136 | George Mason | 171 | La Salle | 179 | George Washington | 239 | St. Joe's (PA) | 266 | Fordham | 321 |
4 of our remaining 8 games are against Top 60 NET all vying for bids, and 3 against bottom feeders.

This weeks slate of games:
Tonight: - Dayton @ Duquesne at 9 PM on ESPN2 - Dayton favored by 1.5. Do they spoil the new arena opening for Duquesne?
Tomorrow: - Fordham @ UMass at 6 PM on ESPN+ - only excitement there is whether UMass covers the 13.5 - VCU @ Rhode Island at 7 PM on ESPN+ - VCU against an injured Fats. Line is even but seems clear - SLU at La Salle at 7 PM on ESPN+ - will anyone be watching anything besides this?

Dayton has to be one of the most inconsistent teams in the A10 this year. Beating Davidson, Rhode Island, St. Louis, but losing to us and Fordham, and getting run out of the gym by Duquesne tonight.

Ended up close as Dayton made a late run. Amzil is impressive as a freshman for Dayton - double double with 11 pts, 11 boards, and 3 blocks. He will be all A10 by his junior year.

Mason at Dayton tonight at 7PM on ESPN2. This is where we start thinking about tiebreakers. On one hand, we'd like to see Mason lose since we need to be ahead of them in standings because a tie leaves us behind them from losing head-to-head. On the other hand, a Dayton loss that moves them down to be potentially tied at the end of the season gives us the advantage.
Still lots of basketball to play in the league, but standings are shaping up.

Duquesne men's team now going into COVID protocol. Just got a text about it from my daughter that every team has to be on a zoom call at 5:45. They were scheduled to play VCU on Sunday.

Seeing Richmond and St. Louis in the First Four Out on Lundardi's latest Bracketology gives me Steve Erkel "Did I do that?" vibes

St. Louis is somehow favored by 3.5 over the Bonnies tomorrow afternoon. Feels like a Bonnies win to keep first place.

3 Games on TV today:
- Explorers @ Fordham at 12:30 on NBC Sports - line opened at -4.5 but moved to -6.5...hope you got in early, but how can this not be a double-digit win?
- Bonnies @ St. Louis at 2:00 on CBS Sports - line remains Bonnies +3.5...has to be a Bonnies win, right?
- UMass @ Rhode Island at 8:00 on ESPN2 - line is UMass +6.5...no feel for this one but my gut says UMass.
An Explorers win and a Rhode Island loss moves us from 9th to 8th place in the league.

What’s the format for the A10 tournament this year? How many teams make the cut? I think they just came out and said they’re skipping the play-in round, so I think it’s just 1-12 make it. 4 Byes, 5-12 on the first day.

I think in some other thread in the last couple days someone said it was canceled. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yesterday's results have us sitting in 10th place in the A-10 right now: atlantic10.com/standings.aspx?standings=123A St. Louis win over Rhode Island on Wednesday and a loss by us to Bonnies moves us to 12th. 6 games left for us (hopefully). Have to win 4 to get to .500 EDIT: 9th place. For whatever reason the official A10 site doesn't have Mason's loss to Dayton on Friday in their standings, but has yesterday's games.

Lunardi has 2 teams back in the dance - Bonaventure and VCU. Here's the updated relevant NET ratings for what it's worth. St. Bonaventure | 38 | VCU | 39 | St. Louis | 42 | Richmond | 52 | Davidson | 67 | Dayton | 86 | Rhode Island | 88 | UMass | 105 | Duquesne | 124 | George Mason | 167 | La Salle | 172 | George Washington | 235 | St. Joe's (PA) | 270 | Fordham | 300 |
Balance of power could shift tonight with VCU @ Dayton and an Explorers upset of the Bonnies. Game to watch --> VCU hosts Bonaventure on Friday night at 7 on ESPN2 - possible preview of the A10 Tourney Championship

Mason is taking Fordham to the woodshed tonight...just dominating them on both ends of the floor. Looks like the Rams used up all their shooting against us.

Watched a DVR replay of the SLU Bonnies game last night. Incredible game; so great to watch.
SLU can make a push off the bubble and into the field if they keep playing like they did against Bona.
