Who would've thought that the 16 point loss to UMass would've been our most competitive game of the last 3?

Time for Davidson to clear the bench..................and perhaps tell the water boy to be on stand-by to go in!

We are one of the worst offensive teams in recent memory. It’s a shame because I love our guys but this unacceptable.

And another poor uncompetitive showing. Move over St Joe's and Fordham here we come. The system we play ain't clicking to put it kindly.

Before the Mason game we were shooting 38.8% from three. Only behind Davidson.
At Mason we were 3-23 and here we are 6-25.

I am surprised he came to La Salle for that money. Would have thought $500K to pull him. He hasn’t earned the money so I guess he shouldn’t complain.

I don't mind a loss to a better team if we look like we can at least be competitive and have something to build upon. These past 3 games have just been difficult since we were really never in them at all. I can't see any adjustments Ash is making other than tinkering with lineups, but there needs to be more than that to reverse this trend. Losing by 16, 33, and 25 in league play just isn't acceptable if we don't want to be considered a bottom feeder in the league.

Don't begrudge anyone's salary but certainly not earning it as of late! From a distance, team played hard for maybe 10 to 15 minutes total, thats on the coach. Also, like Kale, but a bit optimistic about players who stunk out the joint today.

Coaching not there. Talent level not there. Coach is in charge of recruiting the talent.
Coach is the problem.
I have held on to my hopes for Ash as long as I can. For me I think it is over but I know he isn’t going anywhere. We have no one except Shepard coming in next year. Low on talent with not a lot coming into the program. Looks like a long couple of years in store for us.
Anyone still holding out hope this coach can turn this around? Would love to hear the other side of the argument.

990 filings from a couple of years ago had him at $350K Wow, way to go above and beyond! I think most of us would have been fine if you'd referred to just 1 filing!

I still feel like the talent is there..maybe not to be at the top of the A10...but to be mid tier and build. I'm just not seeing Ash develop that talent....or...I should say...I'm not seeing the results of him developing that talent. I'm seeing sparks on defense and he coached the press well (although Davidson's walk-ons broke the press from some of our starters). I'm not seeing an offensive scheme or system that's been implemented, and that's what's concerning. Dare I say it...the offense feels less coordinated than it was under G. Defense has improved, but offense just isn't there even though I feel like we have some players that could execute a good motion system instead of just swing, stand, and chuck 3's. I hoped that in year 3, we would see more. Maybe I was too optimistic. Or maybe, after 25 years in the A10 with not much success, we have to resign ourselves that our basketball program...for a host of reasons...is not positioned to be an A10 contender.

Merger? But could you get one half decent A10 team between LaS-SJU ? Now about a coach..... synergies? What a mess at both. Where have you gone, George Sutor and Larry Hofmann. This is getting tough to watch.

Scary thought- I believe Ash is in his 3rd year of recruiting + coaching- AND- things might be worse now, then they were when G was there! Is that even possible- or am I jumping the gun??🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

I think we have enough raw talent to start making progress. This would be with the possible exception of not having somebody like Wright / Zack from the 2013 team. Therefore, I am laying this at the feet of the Coach at this moment in time. Love the guy but if I was calling the shots he would be coaching to maintain his job for next year. That sounds harsh but so be it. My prediction was that we would be mediocre this year but showing improvement and then break out next year. At this time I don't see any of these things occurring.....

In the first half, I couldn't understand why Kenney was in for what seemed like at least 15 minutes when he was hitting nothing. Looking at the box score, he had the most minutes on the team with 27 and went 0-6...all from 3...and just 1 rebound. On what planet should Ash have him getting the most minutes with those numbers?

Ash taking more negative hits , today, on tthis board, then at anytime all season I don’t see anyone coming to his defense 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 NOPE - not me! BTW- I haven’t seen one criticism ( of him) that I disagree with His main job,,IMO- is to both coach+ have his team ready to compete- I am not seeing either one on the court!

Not coming to defense. But he has through next year to show that he can win, or you move on. ...And...his biggest backer, and the person most instrumental in hiring him, is leaving the University. That HAS to be a factor is this shit show of a product that has been thrown on the floor this past week. I'm willing to give him a pass this week. Tough circumstances, but there is still time to right the ship.

🙋 hand up i was wrong about la salle having an "off game". The team just flat out stinks. Still dont hate the talent but its clear (to any one with eye balls) we're easy to defend with our offense relying on three point shots and we cant hit the side of a barn.
Having said all that the most maddening thing about today's game was Kale mentioning on the broadcast that Ash was going with a veteran starting lineup, just because. Why ? When has deciding who youre gonna start depended on anything other then your best players or who's shown you the most in practice ?
Ash has no clue how to coach his team. His lineups are basically throwing sh*t against a wall and seeing what works. Our goal from here on out should be playing the young guys. Brickus Hikim gill clark moore ray kenney. Especially our two guards and gill should be playing the majority of minutes. Its clear no one on this team is concerned about breaking down their defender and settling on shooting outside shots other than these 3.
