Man, St. Joseph’s of PA totally almost had another win there. Feels like they’re just about to turn that corner.

Bonnies beat VCU by 16. They played 2 people off the bench for a total of 12 minutes. No depth but among the best in the league. Schmidt gets it. Wish our coach played the best players as m any minutes as he can. Richmond does the same..they don't have many guys come off the bench either. URI on the other hand, had ten players with at least 10 minutes of playing time last night (in a loss to Duquesne). I guess its on the coach to figure it out and the talent available. But I'm with you...not necessarily the best players, but the players that give you the most effort should be the ones on the floor. Especially if they are all in the same ballpark as far as talent is concerned.

Watched the Bonnie’s VCU game. VCU was up big in the first half Schmidt made great adjustments and has guys cutting off ball and finishing at the rim. Very efficient offensively
Bonnie’s are basically second best A10 team (with VCU) since 14-15 season behind Dayton. Tells you how great Schmidt is.
As far as lineup goes, a core 7 makes sense but 8 and 9 can be used strategically to pull a win. Unless Sherif is likely to follow Ayinde, if I were coach I’d use this lineup and get as much experience and team building as possible for next year and hopefully we addd a few transfer pieces. My lineup would be as follows
Jig 30 mpg
Jared, Cliff, Jack split up 80 minutes based on in game performance. You could assume 26-27 minutes each for math purposes
Anwar, Christian and Sherif split up 75 minutes based on in game performance. You could assume 25 minutes each for math purposes
That leaves 15 minutes for Dave and Scott. Tough decision but Ash has to re-recruit his young guys by giving them PT or you risk losing a three year player to one of these two. The analytics in me say to go for youth and the long development play. Scott has a hard time with A10 defenses IMO and is effective only in a catch and shoot scenario. Dave gives you a little more balance so I’d lean to giving him 10 and Scott 5 for an instant offense kind of thing where he could hit 2 or 3 3s and have impact. Even with the extra Covid year, these guys aren’t going to transform us by playing next year, so I’d begin making this change now with the program’s future in mind. My .02 without knowing locker and team dynamics.

St. Louis takes the floor tomorrow night against Dayton in their first game since before Christmas. They are currently a 9.5 pt favorite. Really curious to see how they come out against Dayton in this matchup. They have to be rusty. Game is on CBS Sports Network at 8:30.
Richmond travels to St. Joe's tomorrow night as an 11 point favorite. I'm thinking they come out angry and put a hurt on the Hawks.

What is the conference going to do with seeding St Louis for the tournament? If they end up 8-2 will they get the 1 seed over a team that goes 14-4 based on win %?

Didnt think this needed its own thread. La Salle Alum and Coach of Fordham Rams Jeff Neubauer was let go today. Strange to not let him finish out the season.
He seemed to get decent talent into Rose Hill but couldn't get them to stay. If Iona was able to attract Patino, there is no reason Fordham cant get a competent Coach in the Bronx.

You can win at Iona and jump way over Fordham. You can't win at Fordham.

I think his contract was up at the end of this season...which for Fordham...is basically now.

Mihalich is out on medical leave, Dunph is an AD, and now Neubauer gets canned. Are there any Explos coaching in college at this time?

Legler is coaching an AAU team. Maybe Fordham will take a look since he’s a hot name, I hear.

SJU with another loss.
It’s not a matter of if but when Lange gets fired.

SJU with another loss. It’s not a matter of if but when Lange gets fired. I hope they hang onto him for at least another year if not two. Once Jameer Sr. gets in there, Howard will have a much tougher time recruiting locally. Besides, who doesn't love watching the Joeys suffer?

For Lange to get canned by the Hawks, Jill Bodensteiner would be undertaking a great lesson in humility.
Martelli would have to sit back and chuckle.
Brian Baptiste: pray for us.

lange isn't going anywhere anytime soon. he's only 1.5 years into his contract. no way jill b cans the person she hand-picked for the job this soon. so far he hasn't shown to be much of a coach, but in his defense, he's been dealing with a lot of injuries, etc to key players that have kept his full roster off the floor.

I thought the same thing. He was her first big hire, and to admit within 2 years she botched it would be the end of her AD career at St. Joe's....which some alums are calling for right now. Plus the expense of paying out the next 3 years of Lange's contract.

I think the only way you see Lange go is if kids start to go.

There are some talented players on the team such as Funk, Daly, Hall and Forrest and they had a number of injuries. They do get Erik Reynolds next year who should be an immediate impact type of player. My #1 criticism outside of their mismanaged roster is their defense. I don't think Lange knows at all what he's doing on that front. Exactly why Sixer fans wanted him gone. Again, I don't see him succeeding which is why I said it's just a matter of time and I have no idea what SJU financial situation is. For example, if he wins less than 10 games next season and losses a couple players what exactly do you do?

What coach wouldn't want a player who could increase a team's win total by 500%?
