If I am coach, I am telling Jarrod K that there is nothing wrong with getting a rebound off of some of our missed shots once in a while. We tend to miss a lot of them. too often he seems to be just standing and watching.

Poor passing continues. They are also slow to Loose balls.
I don’t understand the Christian Ray love. He is not an A-10 player.

I liked the toughness late.
Our freshman class looks like a building block. Thrown in Clark and you need to add to them.

Credit to Ash. He made some serious adjustments that I wanted to see.
There defense was absolutely incredible today. The full court pressure and man to man defense caused Drexel major issues.
Brickus and Hikim split time at the point today.
Free throw shooting was solid today even for the lack of opportunities.
This is a HUGE improvement for them but they have to clean up the turnovers and rebounding. Moore has to take over for Jared when available.

Defended hard and got a W. I mean no disrespect to the older guys but the core of the team are the younger guys who figure to be inconsistent this year. Let's go 'splorers.

No way Christian Ray should be taking minutes from Anwar Gill. Gill is really a pleasant surprise for me. No doubt he needs to see the floor, first rotation. I am not as all out down on Ray as you seem to be. For me if he finishes half or so of his missed lay-ups and short pull-ups he is fine from where I sit, an asset for us. At this point too many misses. But, I think he is pressing, maybe spooking himself. That wide open missed bunny at the end of the game made the point for me. Strikes me as a tough competitive guy. I actually think he will come around.

Some analytics for you now that they're available
Brickus, Beatty and Gill posted a BPM of +7, +10.8 and +8.1. Beatty posted an insane 145.1 offensive rating.
Overall, the team is ranked 32 in 3P % defense(25.6%) 42 in blocked shot %(17.1) and 68 in eFG% defense(45.4%). Signs of a great defense.
Two alarming issues...ranked 280th in TO% (24.5) and 222 in adj. offense efficiency(96.3).

Watched a bunch of the game but couldn’t finish. Glad when I got the alert that they held on. Couple thoughts:
- The best lineup that I saw today was the small ball one from like 12m left on the first to 8m or so. Think it was Gill, Clark, Ray, Hikim and Kenney. Clark and Ray covered the bigs. They moved the ball well, got to the lane, got open threes. I liked it.
- Izay isn’t ready for time yet.
- Ray is a glue guy on a good team. Will give 12-18 good minutes and just makes good decisions most of the time. Looking for more than that out of him is just asking too much, I agree.
- There will be a game this season where Gill drives us nuts but he looked good today.
- Ash clearly still trying to figure out what he has. If he’s still playing 10 or 11 in February, something is wrong.

Boxscore analysis:
1. I love that Clark can have a nothing offensive game and still have a massive effect with 13 rebounds. Once he settles back into a game-shooting rhythm he's going to be outstanding.
2. If Gill is a player, when is the last time we had a sneaky good (top 3 on the roster) signing?
3. I had when guys get knocked out of the rotation just because it sucks for them, but I'm glad the rotation seems to be shaping up a bit, if that makes sense.
4. I'm hoping the 10 attempts from 3 was either a fluke or a result of us having our way slashing or passing inside. Too few by half for most games we'll play this year.

I’ll take 5/10 over the usual 8/26 from deep.

Win or lose this game...I'm really not mad how they're playin. disagree. Too many turnovers Agreed completely. Drexel had 8 points with about 5 minutes left in the first half. They went over 11 minutes without making a shot. It's a win, yes. But this team is absolutely horrible to watch. As was the production quality of the telecast.

If he’s still playing 10 or 11 in February, something is wrong. I really feel Moore solves a lot of their mismatches inside so Ray won't be forced to do so. Drexel doesn't have size so it worked today but it won't against most teams with strong inside games. Agreed Izay isn't close to ready. Gill like most freshmen will have frustrating games and some incredible games. Hopefully, more of the latter. 12 or 15 minutes for Ray is rather harsh for a guy that's currently the 4th best player on the team right now. He isn't flashy but he is so fundamentally sound. Solid 2 way player who isn't going to make a lot of mistakes. You need those guys to play a major role.

I think if we could get the NCAA to reduce the game by 10 minutes to 30 minutes per game we could make the Final 4.

A couple thoughts on the game after I managed to watch most of it on my phone.
1. Anwar Gill looks good. Maybe forced 1 or 2. And we will have to wait and see how he is as a shooter but that kid can get to the bucket. Played pretty hard on the glass too. 2. Spencer and Beatty are pretty disappointing. Spencer hasn’t looked great. Forced some bad shots. Overall, they’re just meh. 3. Hikim and Kenney haven’t improved. Last year Hikim dribbled too much, tried to do too much and turned it over. I’m still seeing him do the exact same things. He isnt really contributing anything on offense and just marginally on defense. Kenney still thinks he’s a 6’4 guard playing high school ball. He isn’t. And yes struggling. And also is fairly careless with the ball and tough to watch. 4. Stone didn’t play. Not sure if he’s hurt or not part of the rotation based on his play early, I think the latter. 5. The hype around Christian Ray is about as great as I’ve heard for anyone, I haven’t seen more than maybe one flash of it. Maybe he plays hard and stuff, but it’s not really showing up in the box score or even on the camera tbh. Not saying he isn’t a good kid or whatever, but I’m not sure he’s an A10 player based on what we’ve seen in year 2. 6. Jack Clark is very good. I think he’s still 3-5 games away from his best, but the flashes we have seen after almost 2 years are very encouraging. 7. Kimbrough is going to have his work cut out against Tre Mitchell. But Mitchell might have a Wilt Chamberlin type night against us. JK has looked like a 10-14 minute a game guy this year. Nothing particularly impressive. There are some very good bigs in the A10 and I don’t have much hope that ours can match up with them.
We benefitted from a historically bad drought Drexel had and still almost lost. Having watched almost every A10 team play at least some this season.... this could be a long one folks.
