I kind of like where this team is as of this morning...minus Josh Richardson and Al Horford, plus Danny Green and Seth Curry. Plus Tryese Maxey in the draft...starting to make Hinkey, Colangelo, Brown and maybe Brand a memory....

They got two better fits, dropped 45 million in salary and gave up a first round pick five years from now, two seconds and a guy from Europe that nobody has ever heard of.

Counterpoint: In a locker room that already has "weird" chemistry, they're now adding in the new coach's son-in-law.

The roster is definitely more likable now around Joel and Ben. Can you imagine being Horford for the past 18 months? Sure he got paid, but I’m sure he didn’t anticipate being disliked, swept, and shipped to a rebuilding Thunder in an overloaded West.

Horford's sister seemed happy he was leaving Philly.. I mean, New Philadelphia.

Horford's sister seemed happy he was leaving Philly.. I mean, New Philadelphia. The nasty things in her comments were awful and distasteful. But will not miss seeing her tweets complaining about Philadelphia.

Dwight Howard, surprising acquisition, did not see that coming. He must have been pretty ticked with LA. If he still has it in the tank this is really a shot in the arm for the 76ers at back up center. Added bonus I suspect he will bring mentoring for Imbid that Noel certainly would not.

Joel likes Dwight but I dont think he needs him as a mentor. He’s better than Norvelle Pelle for the same amount of cap money. Good deal from Daryl.

Yeah, I'm not so sure about Howard. He's fairly flaky and it seems he's not well liked by his teammates wherever he goes.
Here's a few quotes from a 2018 Ringer article on him: "Part of the reason fans almost universally dislike Dwight Howard is that it seems like every NBA player who has ever met Dwight Howard dislikes Dwight Howard."
"Howard’s career follows a pattern: Every year now, he shows up in a new place. And every year now, the people in the city he goes to hope that Howard will be different. But eventually, he reveals himself to be the same old Dwight, and a path toward his inevitable departure begins."

I think it’s been better since he’s moved from Superman Dwight to role player Dwight.

There is all manner of baggage. Hopefully he is not toxic.... or that toxic? There is mild, moderate, serious and then Terrell Owens toxic. Hopefully Howard falls to the low end of the scale if toxic. My take on TO (others may see differently) gifted athlete, who seriously worked his game, prided himself on it, and exceptionally excelled on the field but brought a toxicity to a team that just was not worth it.

If Kyrie stays AWOL and the Harden injection goes south, the Nets are screwed for years now. They took their shot, but who on that team stops Anthony Davis...

You'd think the Nets would have learned this lesson from the Nets.

Glad to be rid of Simmons. He was a prima dona and a cancer. He wimps out on taking a crucial shot in a game and then he gets hurt feelings for rightfully being called out for it? The most egregious thing he did was to say that he had mental illness issues so he wouldn't have to play this year. What a scummy thing to do. I'm glad he's gone, but unfortunately we picked up the human ball hog, James Harden. We'll see how that works out.

Then I think of how Chris Paul has got religion in Phoenix. Maybe The Beard will change. Am I delusional or what?

speaking of the sixers, i don't watch them much as i'm not a fan of the nba game, but i watched a little last night and couldn't help but notice that the staff at the wells fargo center isn't even trying a little bit to enforce the city of phila mask mandate. if one out of every fifty fans had a mask on, that was a lot.
