I know it’s pretty confidential but I’d love to know the severity of the positive cases.

I know it’s pretty confidential but I’d love to know the severity of the positive cases. If it's like 99.9999% of cases of college students in the last 18 months, probably not severe at all in terms of the case. Not to say it hasn't spread, but I'd be shocked if any kids had more than what feels like a bad hangover.

I actually wonder if a professor got sick because I don't think a bad hangover would be worth your school being featured on the MSNBC clip I saw last night.

Are you suggesting masks and vaccines don't lower cases and overall deaths?

If they said you had to be vaxxed to come to campus, why are only 85% on campus vaxxed?
So classes are virtual...but are practices and sports competitions still happening? Teams have games against Columbia and Lehigh during the period of time that people have to do virtual learning. I tend to think soccer and field hockey, despite being outdoors, would put people in closer proximity of transmitting COVID than, say, calculus class.

Are you suggesting masks and vaccines don't lower cases and overall deaths? It appears the death rate has been slowed by vaccinations but not the spread. Problem is the people have been lied to so often that we do not know what is real and what is fake. There is a video of a doctor somewhere that explains why the vaccinations are not working and the CDC is not following their own science they paid for. Outbreak in the middle of summer when these virus are supposed to be dead or not active like the winter. At some point this country will need to get on with living and moving forward. Are we going to keep going through this when wave 8 happens? Lockdowns didn't work. Masks haven't worked and vaccines are not stopping this. Mitigate the best you can and get on with living.

Outbreak in the middle of summer when these virus are supposed to be dead or not active like the winter. Can you find me a link to this video? Or any data that supports that hypothesis? The data I've seen has shown that cases (largely), hospitalizations (mostly) and deaths (effectively 100%) are growing amongst the unvaccinated. The top-line view of this is that the places that have the lowest vaccination rates, all in the South, are the ones currently having a crisis over overcrowded hospitals. The more vaccinated places are seeing an increase in cases, but the hospitalization and death rates are staying within control.

I will see if I can find it Joe. It has been censored by the Social Media platforms. I don't disagree the unvaccinated places are seeing increases. However, the data is corrupted and has been corrupted from the start.
No matter what side you are on, the corrupted data is a big fu**ing problem. They have screwed this up from the start.

Lockdowns, masks and vaccines all do work but the extent to which they can work is dependent on buy-in. The people who want to get sick and die will still be able to until that group shrinks overall.

But those people aren't dying. The virus has a 99.5%+ survival rate. The masks and lockdown don't work because we are no better than we were then. The country won't stand for the type of lockdowns we had in wave 1.More and more people are not wearing the masks in areas that are trying to enforce it. The next wave will be harder to enforce and the one after that harder than the previous.

I have a friend who works there and they are around the same number of vaccinated people on their campus.

same question I asked of our wonderful governor making the mask edict in schools. Kids can play indoor sports against each other unmasked, but can't sit in history class unmasked.

WTF university like Wisconsin, Florida and Florida St. have pack house stadium during home football game and we can’t have students sitting in the classroom for in class learning. If 85% of the students is vaccinated, the rest of the students should get vaccinated or get tested every week for COVID plain as simple. If not the University will lose a whole lot of revenue in refunding students tuition money. Great job Prez.

One news outlet had indicated that the sudden outbreak was primarily "commuter" students but they evidently did not understand that "non-residential" in our original release colloquially means "off campus." This does not necessarily pertain to any commuter population whatsoever.

Are you suggesting masks and vaccines don't lower cases and overall deaths? It appears the death rate has been slowed by vaccinations but not the spread. Problem is the people have been lied to so often that we do not know what is real and what is fake. Many people have been questioning why SOME vaccinated can continue to spread the virus. It's a valid point, but remember the vaccine was always somewhere between 60 and 85% effective according to clinical trials. It never was supposed to have 100% effectiveness. Still, it evidently gives our immune system a boost in fighting the virus which is an advantage that has saved countless lives. And I'm not a scientist but the lack of any precise link between deaths/cases could certainly be because of underreported data, so I'll agree with you on that. But I'll also add that any disconnects we see between cases and deaths does not concern me as much, since seasonality, vaccination rates, and the ever increasing presence of natural immunities amongst recovered, all add many layers of complexion to the formula. It's not a straight line to get to the total mortality of cases, as we naturally are inclined to assume. That curve is going to move exponentially, ideally toward zero, except there are mutations and yet other unknown factors to consider.

Apparently the real reason for the move to on-line learning was to provide Adam Sandler unfettered access to the campus to shoot a few scenes for his latest epic film.

So I can go to an indoor concert last night with 3500 of my closest friends (several La Salle grads I knew were also there), showing my vaccination card to gain entry, but The President's Reception for maybe a couple hundred donors this Friday is postponed - along with all other on-campus events that feature "a shared meal indoors". I wonder if dining halls are also closed...or maybe they do not constitute "a shared meal indoors".
