GW lost, if we beat St. Joes and Dayton beats GW, we are the 10 seed. Which means instead out going 1-1, we will go 0-1 in Brooklyn, assuring us another losing season. I'm a bowl of cherries tonight. Ok well the lesson as always is that I’m a goon. I'm a dumbass for betting on our squad, now instead of being disappointed with the outcome, I'm ready to go Ari Gold on this team.

With Ed we only lose this one by 7 With Stone and Ed, it's probably a 4 point loss....who knows, if Spencer's shoulder wasn't hurt, the 4 point loss may have been a 1 point win.

The amount of dumb plays Deas made tonight is beyond me. He was sick, and since one of his teammates decided to quit a few days ago, they needed him or they had only 1 true sub due to other injuries and illnesses. Credit to Shaggy for giving the minutes he did.

The amount of dumb plays Deas made tonight is beyond me. I guess you were not looking at Hikim and Kenney. Hikim had two turnovers and two bad shots to start the game and was subbed for after 90 seconds. Kenney had a month full of bad plays and poor decisions. Don't think either one of them was ill.

Just back from the game...a few observations:
- Despite a short bench with only 2 subs, one of whom was visibly sick, the team played hard for 40 minutes and got after it on defense and loose balls. I love our defensive aggressiveness. - Beatty had the hot hand and played hard. - Jared made a bunch of us in the stands say "Ed who?" Really impressed with how he played. - I have no idea what offensive system is in place.
- Tre Mitchell looked like a future NBA player out there...this kid's a freshman? He was a different level than every other player on the court. Reminded me of watching Toppin play earlier this year, although not quite up to him yet.
- Student attendance was weak - maybe everyone has big exams tomorrow and were studying. - There was (unless I missed something) 1 giveaway for Fan Appreciation Night. Last year there was a lot more they gave out to people. I did not feel appreciated.

What's the o/u on your dogs? I will set it at 4.5.... I limited myself to 2 dogs. The game itself gave me enough heartburn. I didn't need to pile on with more.

I never felt like we were in the game. As someone said earlier, when we got close UMass basically would slam the door on us. We did play good D, but our shots weren't falling and we made a lot of bad, soft passes. I felt Jared played well, but Tre Mitchell is a beast.
Let's beat St. Joe's.

Not even a mention of the game in the Inquirer. I guess they only had room for 4 basketball stories... Attachment Deleted

The basic problem with this team has been and will continue to be the collective ability to consistently shoot the basketball into the net.
There were a LOT of good looks last night that were simply missed shots. The team does many things well, defense, rebounding, moving without the ball. Accurate shooting is not one of them.

Looks like they put that up a few minutes after I took the screen shot around 7:45. Still. Why was that not posted until 11 hours after the game ended?

Our defense was really good, and that's a positive take-away. Offensively...we miss too many 2-pointers. Really lacking an effective mid-range game this season.

That is true. I didn't realize he was sick. I'll retract. Kenney was pretty terrible yesterday outside of a few plays.

Here’s the summary for seeding:
Beat St Joseph’s of Pennsylvania, get winner of this weekend’s VCU/Davidson match on Thursday.
Lose to St Joseph’s of Pennsylvania, lose again to St Joseph’s of Pennsylvania on Wednesday.
St Joseph’s of Pennsylvania - not to be confused with the St Joseph’s of Connecticut that Calhoun has taken to the D3 tournament in the second season of the program.
