Ed has 10 points and 6 boards in 14 minutes off the bench tonight in a 41-point rout of Fairfield by the Friars. I'd like Ed to do well and this is a decent start albeit not against Big East competition.

His stats haven't really held up after that game. In the 4 games since against Indiana, Alabama, Davidson, and Fairleigh Dickinson, he is averaging 7 mins, 3 points, and 2 rebounds per game. Free throw shooting on the season is 2-12.

Nah. There’s exactly one (1) transfer I’ve rooted against after they’ve left.

Nah. There’s exactly one (1) transfer I’ve rooted against after they’ve left. i'm shocked. i assume you're talking about murray. why would you root against a guy who was diagnosed with a bi-polar disorder. he's got a mental illness. i don't see people rooting against delonte west.

My guess is he’s talking about Gary Neal.

My guess is he’s talking about Gary Neal. This probably makes more sense, but even with him diagnosis I rooted hard against Aaric Murray. My thoughts on Neal are cloudier than most, I'd guess. But don't want to dive into that shallow pool.

I never had anything against Aaric. He was such an asshole to the coach and his teammates; treated like a golden god from age 16-24.

How was he treated from age 0-16?

How was he treated from age 0-16? Probably the complete opposite.

Don’t remember the context but I bet it wasn’t being an outright asshole to your coach and teammates.

You have Ed averaging a double-double in the Big East when he couldn't do it in the A10. That's laughable. Only 2 players in the Big East averaged a double-double this year: Tyrique Jones from Xavier (11.1 rpg and 14.0 ppg) and Paul Reed from DePaul (10.7 rpg and 15.1 ppg). Both those guys were 2nd Team All Big East this year.
That's the beauty of these disagreements... They will be settled...
Young man averages 10 and 7.3 on 20 mpg in a tough A10... You say it's "laughable" that to posit that he could average 10 and 10 in the Big East with a year off to work on his game and body...
We'll see...
I watched him get an easy 24 and 18 against TWO bigger St. Louis players a few weeks ago..
We disagree... That's ok... I don't feel your opinion is "laughable"... I know my perspective isn't "laughable"...
Del...can we agree now, after 10 games, that it was "laughable" to think Ed would be a double-double guy at Providence? In 10 total games he is averaging 3.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 8.0 minutes per game In the 4 Big East games, those numbers drop to 2.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 6.8 minutes per game. He's a non-factor up there so far, which is a shame. He would have been a solid A10 player this year bringing experience and size.

He's behind an All-League BIG!
I still believe Ed will be a double-double guy the next 2 seasons... Actually, I think it's a LOCK!
Watson is going Pro this year...
We'll see...

Watson is averaging 19 & 7 this year Ed can average 11 & 10 the next two years and that's a double-double.. Just because he could average a double-double does not equate to him being a better player..

Tough to do with only 5 fouls to give.

I know we're far from the only fan base that does this, but I refuse to be wrapped up in transferred players careers personally. When they leave us, it is ok to not ever care enough to follow all their subsequent games, and I will get no satisfaction in hearing about Ed struggle to fit in to his next program. The only one that ever really caught my attention was when Murray broke the all-time Liacouras Center scoring record. Do we think transfers out are watching our games with a vested interest? No, they likely are not.

When Bobby Jones transferred to West Point. That really hurt. The backcourt of Bobby Jones and Charlie Wise was unbelievable

I don't have an issue with the 4 year Hikim for 1 year Carter swap. How about a 1.5 year Hikim for 1 year Carter swap ?

Croswell played 4 minutes yesterday against nova on his return to Philadelphia area, such a waste from a basketball perspective! Would have been an anchor for our team.

Interesting to project Ed on this team now. We could really use his rebounding and inside scoring. That said his defense was always awful and if he was on his team the recent elevation of JK probably doesn’t happen. If JK continues to improve it probably is best that Ed left for something different. Will be interesting to see what happens the rest of this year with JK and Ed at Providence to go forward.

So do I, but revisionist history has made him an All-A10 guy apparently. He was never that. He was a good player who would be a bench piece on a good A10 team.
