Is Brandon Stone injured? I do not think he played or played much against GW Hasn't played since the game at St. Lou

More personal fouls committed (13) and turnovers (11) than MADE BASKETS (10)by Explorers.
Spencer with ONE shot in 17 minutes for the game? WTH?

Down 29 with a little over 6 minutes to go and Kale and the other announcer saying a comeback is unlikely. Yeah, I think so.

We have a group of players who are unable to adapt to the style of basketball Ash wants to play. We have a coach who is either unable or unwilling to adapt his style of basketball to fit the players he has. With each passing game, I feel less and less confident in our future with Coach Howard.

Davidson's walk=on had 4 points, 2 boards, and 0 turnovers. Our 4 freshmen went 2-19 for 6 points total, 9 boards, and 5 turnovers.

Almost the same ass-kicking score two weeks ago to Richmond. We are not getting any better.

Explain to me how Scott Spencer takes ONE shot in the entire game? How is that possible? Seriously I would like some sort of explanation.

Somebody may have mentioned this in another thread, but how many A10 games have we trailed by 20 points?

In the first 9 minutes of each half the team scored 5 points both times.
I just think we run an offense designed for a team with more pure and consistent shooters. We have 1 of those (Spencer), the rest of our shooters are streaky (Phiri, Deas, Beatty) or freshmen like Ray, Kenney and Hikim.
The team is also incredibly inaccurate with their passing. Rarely do guys catch the ball in a favorable shooting position. When they are in motion, passes are often below the waist or not nearly in stride which hinders the cutting to the basket. Even more disappointing is the ability to recognize when the post man is open. Too many passes made when they shouldn’t be and too many missed passes when the should be made.
Lot of work to do on some basics this summer. A10 teams adjusted to the team’s nice start and team hasn’t adjusted back.

The post above by milkoliverwurst says it all. Player fundamentals and coaching get low grades. Once again they lost a chance to win due to poor foul shot management. Davidson went 24 for 33 from the foul line. We went 9 for 15. We gave Davidson 33 FREE shots! ...we got 15; an 18 point spread. What the heck are we doing on defense to create so many? Would a different defense reduce this? I don't see the ability of the coaches to adapt in real time to shifts in the game. Other teams look so well coached. I don't see intensity in the coaching staff.

Yeah, I don’t think so. His offense got his best shooter 1 shot tonight, which he drained. Those not putting some blame on the coach are completely blind.
It is a combination of issues and Ash shares some blame.

Davidson had most of the free throws in garbage time. The game was decided by that point. That was the least of our problems tonight. Poor shooting from 3 (2-16) and poor defending doomed us.

A couple of thoughts
I said not too long ago I’d like to see Ash shorten the bench in favor of experience and win over trusting a process. Well my wish sure wasn’t granted
Spencer, Phiri, Beatty and Saul shot 42% in 83 minutes versus the four frosh who shot 2- 19 in 75 minutes. The frosh were getting beat all night including the walkons who played more than token minutes. not ready for prime time playaz
Ash couldn’t adjust around a basic CYO 3-2 matching zone. Our spacing sucked all night and Spencer gets set up for one shot. Deep into the season we still settle for suck corner threes and poor shots where we have run no effective offense. Why did we get crushed? Duh!
Ash also seems to have a hard time countering smart coaches who run effective O. UR 2x, UD, Penn, DC and even Mason for crissakes. Unreal.

This is good support for my theory to primarily play experience. From here out we’d be better with Phiri, Beatty, Deas, Spencer Croswell as primary lineup Hikim spotting Phiri 12-15 mpg Kenney spotting Beatty and Deas 20-25mpg Ray spotting Spencer 10 Mpg Kimbrough for the delta of time in Croswell minutes

I dont remember anytime under G when it was this difficult to watch. There were bad spells but there weren't 10 minutes every game where the team just fell apart. The final scores don't even do it justice because ash is good at trying to get back door covers of the spread in the last 2 minutes. But to have 7 games in conference with 20+ point deficits in the second half is mind blowing.

"His guys" went 2 for 19 in 75 minutes of play and scored 6 points and committed 12 fouls. What was Ash actually developing during those 75 minutes...humility? Playing your seniors is "selling out"?
