Davidson line. Not good for the Explos. Looking at the glass half-full, Davidson’s home record over the last 3 seasons is only 34-4 so they’re due...

I said before this could be a trap game for them with us sandwiched between Rhode Island and a road game at Dayton on Friday on ESPN2. They may be thinking ahead and get sloppy...or they want revenge from last year.

They may be thinking ahead and get sloppy...or they want revenge from last year. The 10+ point advantage to Davidson is no surprise. I actually thought it would be higher. Can we catch them on an off night and we bring what approaches an A game? Your scenario here is one thing we have to hope for. Has the time arrived for us to put together the type of game that knocks off a genuine mid pack A 10 team (not sure GW really belongs there)? Would love to lay some claim to being considered in the mid pack, a team ascending? But tough to imagine if we continue to routinely make so many errors and have the offense take trips to La La land for 5+ minute stretches so often. Our consistent grittiness does give hope though. But you have to work smarter (make less mistakes, more consistent execution) as well as hard to beat the better teams. Would be great to see us build on the GW game. It is also encouraging how Davidson though mid pack is mortal this year. Both St Joes and GW have beaten them. They are beatable by those of us looking up. ,

We have given up 20+ point defecit runs to... Richmond, Dayton, George Mason, St. Louis, VCU. Most of those were even at home. I would not be surprised of Grady and Gundmundsson went on a 30-0 run at some point tonight. However, we have actually played decently on the road in conference looking at the Duquesne, GW, URI, Umass games. We did however lose @ Davidson by about 30 two years ago. Not holding my breath tonight.

Not holding my breath tonight. You mean the blue shirts lost to the red shirts by 19 two years ago. Not 30 points. Not with Howard as the coach either.
While Deas and Phiri were a combined 2/14 in that one, it was the defense giving up 15 of 32 threes that lost that one.

A 19 point game. Where the lead was as high as 25 in the second half. Sure, it's not the same coach, only a few of the same players, but it's still a very talented Davidson team that is 34-4 at home. We have 1 more loss at home just in 2020 than they do in their last 38 games. Somewhat alarming. Unfortunately, I don't see this team rising to the occasion.
