This probably doesn't need its own Thread, but having something positive to read during these melancholy times seems needed on this forum.
All year my favorite player has been Ayinde. I've been so impressed with his all around game. Im not quite referring to his offensive and defensive attributes, but more what he provides to this team as a leader and floor general. Even though he's a freshman there's no denying or ignoring he's the most vocal player during games, on and off the court. His tenacity and fearlessness never wavers even if the team is down big.
What I love most about his offensive game is that he never seems to settle for a jump shot. His first instinct is to always drive and create. He's a true point guard in every sense of the position. That type of unselfish play is what leads to winning programs. I just finished watching Nova beat Temple and when you watch them play you clearly see how much the ball moves to find the best possible shot. Collin Gillespie is a big reason for this. Even going back to our own teams when we had success in the NIT and NCAA tournament we had Tyreek Duran who was our rigid leader. On defense, Ayinde is as passionate (if not more) trying to cause turnovers and taking pride in being a pest.
I know this team needs more pieces than Ayinde, but if Ash can use him as an example of how our whole team should play, I think we're in good hands. Here's to hoping he stays out of trouble and finishes out his career at La Salle. I feel good betting on him for the future success of our program.

His game reminds me of Fatts Russell. Time will tell whether he or Jameer Nelson Jr becomes the preeminent small guard in the A10.
