I try not to look back on guys we missed but can you imagine if Damion Lee chose La Salle instead of Drexel? Damn, we would have that other scorer and defender and would be very dangerous.
Kid is a stud.

I'm not so sure. He can shoot you into a game and out of a game. He takes some BAD shots. As soon as this thread went up, he went 2-11 for 7 points in a loss to Northeastern. I know Ramon can and does do the same thing for our team, and I know Lee is only a sophomore, but I much prefer a team-oriented balanced attack like we had Saturday vs GW (6 players in double figures, no one over 15 points) than relying on someone to score 30 in order to win.

You have to remember Drexel has been devastated by injuries and they need him to score because they can't get elsewhere other than Massanet. Bad shots and forced shots are going to happen when you are asked to find points. He is a stud who who would absolutely help us in my mind.

I know they lost Fouch and have had other guys go down for stretches, including Lee himself.
I don't know about him though. I've seen him chuck leaning-to-the-side 3's early in the shot clock, unnecessarily. Perhaps in our system with better players around him, he'd thrive. He's certainly got skill, I just question his shot selection.
The thing people used to trash Iverson about was that he "didn't make the players around him better". For a guy with the ball in his hands as much as Lee has it in his hands, he only averages 2.0 assists per game, as well as 2.0 TOs per game (total 36 and 36). He doesn't create much for his team. And he only shoots 36.7% from 3. His totals are a function of the volume of his shots.

Ramon averages 3.3 assists to 2.8 TO's which is almost the same ratio as Lee. Ramon is also been in college basketball 4.5 years versus 1.5 for Lee so his stats are very solid. He also plays defense which is very rare for a young player. The thread was not meant to compare him to Ramon or any other La Salle player. It was just to wonder if he came to La Salle what he could have added to a pretty good team already. If you wanted to compare him you can compare him to DJ Peterson who G brought in later that spring. While DJ is a contributor he is not on the same level as Lee.

I believe Lee matriculated at St. Thomas More following high school. Often that is a sign an athlete is trying to improve their grades. Coach G has made comments lately that he is focusing recruiting on good student athletes. I don't know much about Lee's academic record, but I have noticed that G doesn't seem to recruit anymore from the 'after' high school prep schools that are pumping out some outstanding basketball players.

Lee was qualifed and signed with Pat Kennedy and Towson during the early signing period his senior year at Calvert Hall in Baltimore. He decided to prep so he could get looks from better programs. It came down to Drexel and La Salle. G will gladly take prep school players as long as they're good enough and are not academic train wrecks. DJ Peterson came out of a prep school (Lee Academy) He recruited power forward Mike Kobani out of a North Carolina prep school (High Point Christian Academy) pretty hard but backed off while waiting for Brimah to make a decision. Tyrek Coger and Ahmed Hamdy are two prep school kids who he has recruited in the 2013 class and I'm sure there are more that we don't know about. I would not be surprised if La Salle signs a prep school big man in the late signing period.

If you put Lee in the A-10 and Galloway in the Colonial Athletic, you wouldn't even bother comparing the stats because the stats would be so ridiculous.
