From Jeff Borzello - Xavier freshman guard Dahmir Bishop is in the transfer portal, sources told ESPN. Was a four-star recruit in the 2019 class, hasn't played much over the last month.

No room for him until next year. I wonder if he is staying at Xavier until summer sessions start.

It looks like we didnt even offer him. SJU of PA did, but his final 8 was: Florida, Penn State, Providence, Rhode Island, Temple, VCU, Wake Forest and Xavier.
My guess would be he gives temple a long hard look

No room for him until next year. If he was good enough you can make room.

I assume we'll know quickly if he had a destination in mind and he's trying to get eligible ASAP or if being back home for the holidays (or missing them) led to a quick decision.

I am guessing he's planning to sit out Spring and fall '20 semesters to play beginning winter of '21 for 2.5 years of play like Ty?

Yes, I think Ash likes what we have. Clark should be back next year so if he doesn't think Bishop can get quality minutes he may sit this one out.

He played with Christian Ray in 2918 on the K Elite basketball team. Maybe there is a friendship there and a desire to play again together or at least some continued communication. Who knows.

I'm glad he chose St. Joes. They're a Catholic school like us trying to compete against the state schools that have unlimited dollars for recruiting and facilities. Better St. Joes than Temple or Penn State. The latter has been overly successful recruiting in our backyard. Glad to see them lose one.

Bishop is a really solid recruit. Curious to see if Billy Lange can develop him specifically his shot. He's a project but has some serious speed and athleticism.
Again, I'm just not sure what Lange's strategy is here. The 2021 class is so critical for him otherwise SJU fans won't be so kind.

The 2021 class for Ash is just as critical. Anyone who thinks different is fooling themselves. He needs to find some all A-10 level players to move up the ladder in this conference. Whether we are 9th and they are 13th both programs have a ways to go to get up into the upper echelon of this conference.
If Clark can come back healthy he is a big shot in the arm I really like his game but we have to be honest here and admit none of us know if he can come back healthy and contribute the way we think/hope he can at this point.
I thought Ed was really going to develop into a beast. Not sure what is up with him but I would feel much better if he can become the consistent banger and rebounder we thought he was going to be. Jared has been ever more inconsistent than Ed.
I am not sure what we have here. Perhaps that is not unusual given the youth but I have high hopes and concerns at the same time. These next 15 games should paint a better picture just how much help we need with the 2021 class.

I feel pretty good about where as has us for next year. We add an absolute sniper in Jack Clark, and a very talented big with Moore. I see Ray working a lot on his shot going into next year, Stone in the weight room and adding some good strength, and Hikim and Kenney just need to slow down a little bit in their game. A jump from HS to college is tough, I feel really good with where we should be next year.
