Looks like the basketball twitter account is suspended again... Talked to someone and they’re aware but haven’t gotten any indication as to why. Don’t know the fix. But they have to change something. Outreach is big, especially now with the team playing great and conference play starting with a ranked team at home. Sigh.

What percentage of twitter users have sound on? This feels like bad math.

People need to start making plans on making the Dayton game. Im coming down from NY with 2 other alums.
I know school is out, but this needs to be as close to a sell out as possible. Imo the biggest game at Gola since we upset Butler and stormed the court. 🌪🌪🌪

We went to the game today. (Another game, another a-hole sitting near by dropping f-bombs and screaming inane remarks during the first half and being way too old to be acting that immature)
It was a nice win. La Salle looked good and Bucknell looked bad. The Sotos kid for Bucknell is a nice Patriot League-level player, but he whines a lot and gets frustrated easily. For us, Ed Crosswell looked a lot better than he did in the earlier games. Deas had his 3-point shot stroke down today; I would've like to have seen him get more opportinities when he gets hot like that. Our foul shooting sucks....they have to be more toward 80% in that.
It looked like La Salle had only 9 of their players available for the game. (Fall grades? Injuries?)
The conduct/body language of the La Salle players seemed to suggest that they felt they had arrived as a team and that they could execute like this against anyone. Thinking like that, they could get seriously smoked against Dayton.

This team has some heart. What a fun group to watch.
Thinking about this squad, with Clifton Moore, Jack Clark, we really could be building something here. Kudos to Ash for making these guys believe.... what a difference a year can make! Beat Dayton!!!!

Great win against a team who usually plays us tough...Nice game by JK he played well... but Hikim was superb today especially on the defensive end along with beautiful passing on the offensive end... Not sure if I've seen better 2 way guard play by a La Salle freshman. Ever. Dude is so composed on the court and knows exactly what to do with the ball.

Josh Verlin on his City of Basketball Love site has a good article on this year's team. Sorry, I don't know how to post the link. Don't ever get old! Good insights.

He had a good game at both ends, but was very sloppy with the ball in the second half and had several turnovers in a row. He's a freshman and that decision-making will get better, but during a stretch in the second half, I didn't see the level of composure we will need in A10 play and against better teams. Bucknell is very weak this year, and the schedule for the past few games has been really soft - the average NET rating for the teams we've faced in our past 5 games is 274. In contrast, the average NET rating for the January games is 93. That's a big difference in quality of teams, and the level of play will need to be more consistent.

Agreed with diehard here...I was tired of seeing G’s teams look soft. We were so good with Ramon in part because he was so hype all the time that the other players were too. I firmly believe basketball is a game of confidence and I would much prefer the team play this way than neutered.

What always irritated me with Doc was his belittling of his own players. Chewing them out and embarrassing them with his immature disposition on the sidelines. Along with always throwing them under the bus after a loss. Putting the blame squarely on them while never pointing the finger at himself.
A few weeks ago, in a post game press conference, Ash talked about how he rarely gets emotional during games because he understands how young his team is and that getting too upset about mistakes can stunt the development of his players. That staying composed and talking with them is best method of teaching and learning.
It was a breath of fresh air hearing him say that. And i believe has played a big role in giving this team confidence. While also allowing each player to find their own identity and role.

Jared was the 7th different player to lead the team in scoring this season. 7 different players in 12 games is incredible. Again, Saul hasn’t even lead the team yet, I fully expect him to multiple times. The depth is great. Hikim looked great, still just trying to do a little too much, but every game he looks better and better. 7 assists is impressive for a freshman. Can’t wait for Dayton.

Agreed and this has the effect of making us very difficult to scout. And it has the effect of giving us chances to win when our best player is down either for an injury or just having a bad game. It is a team that is built for the A-10 tournament which is four games in four days (if we are not already in the top four by then).

More than any of the bench demeanor talk, the stall ball when we were up 8 with 8 minutes to play vs Rider used to drive me bananas. I appreciate Ashley keeping his foot on the gas and having the team continue with their offense. It may be detrimental at times, but they do not go into a turtle shell and lose all semblance of what got them the lead. Dayton will be the second biggest test of the season, and the best team we play from here on out, assuming nothing magical happens this year. They don't play well at Gola. After sitting through a 4th quarter meltdown in the rain at Metlife yesterday, I'm hoping for a better outcome as I leave Gola around 10:30 Thursday night. Love the late start. I can put the kids to bed and still drive to the game.

The matchup of Obi Toppin scares me. He is a freak athlete and while Ed is strong and physical, he doesnt run or jump anywhere close to Toppin. I'd almost like to see Ray get physical and matchup with him. I think we will probably switch 5, but I don't see any good matchup for us guarding Toppin. We are either giving up 6 inches or a lot of athleticism. That being said, I am pumped for this game. Dayton will play tonight so they have a couple less games of prep, I can't wait for this. Hope the hideaway tent is prepared for this one because beers will be flowing like crazy.

Has anyone had any experience with the pregame tent yet? Making the trip with a few alums from NYC area but trying to figure out if that is a viable option for pre-game food and drinks.

Explorers 213. I try to go to the pregame tent every time I get to a game. It's a nice atmosphere with a few beer selections. Limited menu with one or two sandwich selections but they are quite good. I like the opportunity to have a couple beers while at the same time showing some support for the program. I really hope we get a good crowd for Dayton.

Awesome, thanks for the information I am looking forward to checking it out on Thursday.....Hopefully they can manage to get some students out to create a decent atmosphere but I would imagine it will be tough with school being out. Should be fun regardless!

I'm glad to see that gone. That used to drive me insane.

Just threw down 2 big dunks in a row on them and is running the floor like a guard.

No, I was not saying that they were not playing hard. I was saying that their body language was more along the lines of "Yeah, we ran this play against Bucknell. We can do the same thing to a Gonzaga. We were faster than Bucknell. We'll be faster than anyone we play this year. This is no big deal." If that's their thinking going into games against VCU, Dayton......they're in for a big surprise when they see that those schools have much better talent then Bucknell or La Salle have.
