Takeaways from the last 2 games... Maintained a double digit lead against Murray State, and didn't let them get closer than 9 or 10 in the second half. Battled Wright State for 40 minutes, and didn't let it slip away from us. Last shot was set up nicely. Stone had an open look, shot was way off. Freshman jitters, but glad to see Ash had confidence in him for that shot. No prolonged scoring droughts in either game. FG% and 3% has been much improved. Saul and Shaggy were a combined 2-10. Everyone else shot well. Solid game last night from Ray and Stone. If you check out the Tournament twitter feed, there is one nice highlight of Stone. Kid has game.
Still need to control TOs
All in all, progress chart is trending in the right direction. Let's get another W tonight.

In the past this is a game we ultimately blow in the end.
Congrats to the team, we are heading in the right direction!!

Missed the end, but after that second half cold-streak, I pegged this as a game that could have been won with more experience. Surprised and proud to see we pulled it off, with the young guys coming up big at the end.
If you told me we'd be in an in-season tourney championship game this season, even if it's the Gulf Coast Showcase, I'd have laughed at you. Can't ask for much more than this right now.

I can't remember the last time we made a final in an 8 team tournament. Ash has them playing hard. Go 'splorers.

In the past this is a game we ultimately blow in the end. In the past the last play would have resulted in a turnover.

I couldn't catch the game, but followed what I could and I haven't read the entire thread, but a few things. in 5 games, 4 different players have lead us in scoring. I would have never imagined Stone leads us in scoring on the 5th game of the season and only a single three. Preparing for a team where 7 guys average 7+ points is not easy. Ray going 2-2 from three is encouraging. Shooting 38.5% from three as a team and letting up only 25% will lead to a very good season. We gotta shoot better than 59% from the line. Overall, this is tremendously encouraging. Excited to see what we can do today. A balanced scoring attack where we don't need one guy to carry us is big.

I’m impressed we weathered Croswell’s early foul trouble. I feel like in the past we might “comfortably lose” this sort of game by 5-8 where you look back and wonder what happens if Wright/Goodridge/Wesson hadn't effectively missed the first half.

I can't remember the last time we made a final in an 8 team tournament. Ash has them playing hard. Go 'splorers. This intrigued me, so I looked it up. December 28-30, 1993 Big Island Tournament appears to be the last final we were in.

Thanks Hykos. I knew it had been awhile. Not sure I would have guessed 26 years though.

93 was the beginning of the end ... until 2012
