Didn't see this started and games have been played. The rim-protector-who-shall-not-be-named from Bonaventure injured his knee in the first game earlier this week and is expected to be out at least a month. Without him, the Bonnies are 0-2 to start the season. buffalonews.com/2019/11/07/st-bonaventure-mens-basketball-osun-osunniyi-knee-injury-news-2019/Davidson fell to #24 Auburn tonight, and #25 VCU barely survived a scare against North Texas to move to 2-0. Surprise of the week - St. Joe's beating Bradley and putting up 86 points with 28/32 FT shooting and Ryan Daly going into Beast Mode in the 2nd half. I was shocked at how well they played when I was watching the game...had a grittiness and swagger to them I wasn't expecting.

Agree on the St. Joe's point. Ryan Daly is the type of player that opposing teams and their fans are going to hate.

They’re playing like they have something to prove. Would love for our guys to have that “eff you” mentality.

Counter: He was excellent at Delaware and will be average to slightly above average in the A10.

I honestly didn't understand the hype with the Bonnies going into the season. People underestimated how much production they lost from last season.

I honestly didn't understand the hype with the Bonnies going into the season. People underestimated how much production they lost from last season. They had 3 freshmen that made huge contributions last year. The biggest jump is usually fresh-sophomore year. I think that’s where it came from. And the transfer (planutis(sp.?)) was very highly regarded. Also have a good class of freshman. I don’t think people had them top 3, but if those freshman make a jump this year, they could be very good.

Agree on the St. Joe's point. Ryan Daly is the type of player that opposing teams and their fans are going to hate. I always thought Ryan Daly was underestimated by college recruiters and is simply a glue guy winner. Sorta like I expect and hope Christian Ray will turn out to be. (but they do have different bodies).

Ryan Daly will contribute like a poor man's Jordan Price and be treated on this board like a rich man's Jordan Price. The end.

They have three all team conference players between Lofton, Welch and Osun. Just think Stockard, Poyser, Griffin and Kaputo was A LOT of experience to lose. They were also a different team without Stockard too.

As Glitter mentioned OO is hurt right now and that has had a big impact on the team. They'll punch above their weight like they always have of late.

See the 1:05 mark in particular which was ESPN SCTOP10's #1 play of the day. Umass shot 17/27 from distance in this win.

Hawks are going to take down UConn on the road.
Billy Lange turns the roster over and wins at UConn. Pretty impressive.

Just watched SLU vs Tubby Smith's High Point team. SLU had a freshman, Gibson Jimerson (Should be all rookie A-10 just for that name) shoot the lights out and lead all scorers with 25 on 5-10 3pt shooting. High Point is a pretty lousy team but that's still impressive shooting. SLU always seems to have our number.

UMASS moves to 5-0 with a win over rider. Most people probably would have bet against them being 5-0 if they played in the catholic league this year. Any conference win during this time is a good conference win (unless it’s sju of pa)

I mean, they’re averaging giving up 41 and haven’t had an easy schedule. The spread will probably only be 12-14 because UMass is overvalued right now. It certainly will be a barometer, but their first 5 have been good, including an impressive win against NE.

Ryan Daly will contribute like a poor man's Jordan Price and be treated on this board like a rich man's Jordan Price. The end. Couldn’t agree more. The kid is averaging 19 points and 6 assists. What else is he averaging? 3 turnovers. Shooting 25% from 3. 33.8% from the field. And only 66% from the line. So far, I’m not terribly impressed. Also in the midst of 2-8 shooting vs. Florida. If he wants to average 40 points a game and shoot 25% from 3 and 33% from the field, please, be my guest.

The announcers in this game have a man-crush on Daly as the Hawks pulled to within 5.

Hate to say it but SJU has been impressive. Daly is not a poor man anything Double-double today against a good SEC team. Gritty and tough, plays defense, and moves off the ball. Would take him over Price in a heartbeat. People seem to forget he scored 19 against us as a freshman at Delaware on our court.

Lange also stole Rahmir Moore. Kid is a player. Signed him May 7th or somewhere around there. He has adapted quicker to the college game than Ray has. Not saying he will be better as a lot can happen over the rest of the year but a program desperate for players was a great pull by Lange.

Not saying he will be better as a lot can happen over the rest of the year but a program desperate for players was a great pull by Lange. His basketball IQ is really good. Plays a solid game. I have some doubts about the ceiling of their freshmen class but there is a lot of basketball to play. For a class he strung together last minute it is better than I expected. I will say the pressure is on that class as the team seems to be trying to build around Daly and that junior class. He blew up his senior year of HS, was CAA ROY in 17 and an all conference player both years so I'm not surprised SJU is heavily relying on him and getting this level of production. Obviously, efficiency going forward will be key. Overall, I'm just not sure the risk in building around that junior class is going to pay off. You put a ton of pressure on a class you put together late in the game. As soon as that class graduates you are essentially rebuilding again.

Not a A10 team, but Joe Mihalich's Hofstra team beat UCLA in Pauley Pavilion last night. By 10. Team shot 49% from the field, 50% from 3, and committed only 7 Turnovers. On the road. That'll win games for you. That is a huge win come Selection Sunday if they are on the bubble (like La Salle was after game 1).
Side note. Joe is 380-287 in his coaching career. If you had to rank former Explorer's success in the coaching ranks, is Joe #2?
