I missed this one entirely. Maybe I wasn't paying attention to the informed speculation that Halladay's death may have been a suicide. Roy HalladayHalladay will be enshrined into the Baseball HOF this Sunday.

That first article was a weird one.

I’m always frustrated when people shortchange reasons behind death. Whether it be suicide or flying a plane under the influence, the reasons do not diminish that person’s life. Halladay brought a lot of joy to a ton of people. That shouldn’t be diminished.
That said, I also didn’t join in the ‘this is so sad’ mystique that surrounded this event. The guy got into a high performance plane with drugs and alcohol in his system. That he crashed it is not a surprise and we can still honor his life without finding that he died some tragic event.
I feel for his kids, who probably didn’t know their father like most kids would.

The guy got into a high performance plane with drugs and alcohol in his system. Some parallels to another debate that occurred on here...

Except you can honor his achievement and his life, as I said.

Yeah, but I think it made me feel worse somehow knowing he realized it too late.
