So I figured there was 9 places to put this so I'll make it its own thing. Turnover was inevitable. I'm surprised it didn't happen last year. I still think there may be one more person leaving which would leave 9 scholarship players for next year? If that person doesn't leave, then it is 10. I don't want guys that haven't signed yet unless they're really going to make a splash. I want Hakim Hart, if he'll sign here, but not some other guy that is a sub-A10 player. Fill the scholarships with grad transfers if you have to, or just sit on them...no reason to fill out the roster with guys that don't have all-A10 caliber ceilings. 2019-2020
Saul Phiri Jack Clark David Beatty Scott Spencer Christian Ray Ayinde Hikim Isiah Deas Ed Croswell Jared Kimbrough Brandon Stone ?? ?? ??

I like the front court. I'd like to add another guard/wing. I wasn't a huge fan of Saul bringing the ball up last year. Hikim could be that guy, but a secondary option would be ideal as well

Penn State and Maryland leaders for Hart. Temple wants him bad.
I feel like this team needs another ball handler. Hakim gets the keys to the car from day 1, but ball handling the spot where Carter will be missed most.

absolutely must find another point guard. the only true point on the roster is ayinde hikim. he is a stud, but we can't have a freshman playing 37 minutes a game like st joe's did with jared bynum. it's too much. so it's either finding a grad transfer point guard or finding a diamond in the rough prep school kid to help out at the point.
i wonder if chris arcidiacano is in play here. he had a great year at perkiomen prep, can play both the point and the wing and would give us another shooter.
getting a quality grad transfer will be hard. the p5 schools are all over the better ones. we just need a decent one who can take care of the ball, defend, and give us 15-20 minutes a game. i know jucos can't typically get into la salle, but there are some out there who were qualifiers out of high school who could get into la salle. i'm sure coach ash is pounding the pavement trying to find a point guard right now unless he's already got one lined up.
also hoping that ayinde is still trying to get his friend robert carpenter here. if deas leaves, he could fill that hole.

If there is some thing about this situation is that you have a plus recruiter with access and experience with a lot of the names currently in the pool. I believe we are about to see a major influx of talent. 3 schollies but probably 2 players to allow for some spacing and balancing between classes.
Throw another big man with a perimeter shot with another PG whom also has a consistent perimeter shot and you have a core of players of 7-8 players that can play at an attractive level.

What we have
Hikim; Beatty
Phiri; Ray
Deas; Spencer
Clark; stone

What I’d like to see (no intel caveat)
Hikim; Beatty; +*?
Phiri ; Deas
Clark; Spencer; + **?
***?; Stone
Ed ; Jared
Alyn Breed 6’3 with handle and scoring ability *; probably would go with Murray State or NCState if they offered Rob carpenter or 6-7” player who can defend ** Sestina ***
Red shirt Ray

Big difference between Christ Church in North Carolina and playing VCU in an A10 game. Hope the rep is true to form.

Breed is a 2020 recruit. Sestina is visiting Kentucky. Why redshirt Ray? I gave the disclaimer. It’s my wish list. If it came true, we could redshirt Ray. If it doesn’t we surely won’t. From what I have read Alyn will declassify if the offers don’t rise to the level of where he should play. I believe we got involved after that. Whether we are at the level he wants is something only he knows. All I am saying is it is a possibility. I would like 2 PGs with different size and playing attributes. Alyn apparently can score so the two could play together as well. Wouldn’t mind seeing that.

I didn't realize that there is a difference in HS prep ball and high mid major DI ball. Thanks for the clarification. For the record, all I was pointing out is that is his reputation. Maybe I should have said profile. I have no clue how he will pan out but I am assuming that is what Ash recruited him for.

Non-city bigs are like elite cold weather hitters, you can't really get a proper gauge until they're somewhere with full-time competition and get a chance to adjust.

Why would we redshirt Ray. He's a big strong kid, a fierce competitor and has a good skill set. Plus I don't understand discussing red shirting a kid who has committed in favor of playing kids who we probably won't get.

I’m not too concerned about our roster. It’s way too early to be concerned about Howard. I also don’t think there is a certainty those transferring sets us back. Sad to see them go and I guess we will see if that’s the end of it. As it stands right now we still have 6 of our top 9 rotational guys with the program.
I can’t see any reason why Christian Ray would redshirt. Kid is too skilled and we need guards.
Brandon Stone game is really really good. I have high expectations for this kid. Should be a instant impact type of player. Hopefully, I didn’t jinx it.
Supposedly, Scott Spencer is the most skilled player on the team. He is going to play a ton of minutes.
We also get Jack Clark back who showed flashes as a freshmen I haven’t seen from any freshmen guard for us in awhile.
As I said before a lot can change between now and November.

I think we will miss Carter. We don't have any guard depth as it stands. I don't want to sit through another 10 win season.

I don't want to sit through another 10 win season. Good is the enemy of great. (Overall a pretty dumb phrase, but I think it applies nicely when small short-term gains can put bigger long-term gains at risk.)

I'll make sure we all sign-in with Principal Glitter, his royal highness, for now on so we don't get spanked and judged for lackluster attendance. I wish I could be like you when I get older. You're so dreamy.
