Another one that's not surprising. Congratulations to him for graduating already, in what I believe would be only 3 years, correct?
Wish him the best of luck.

So who is in play for that last scholarship for next year? Anyone care to summarize maybe a potential top five or six candidates? Too many ins/outs the past 12+ months for me to keep it all straight.

His presence on the team was always very highly talked of, though it is a shame the basketball side of the experiment never evolved into anything.

Graduating in 3 years is very impressive. It took half my friends 5. I guess there was a benefit of living so far from home. He was probably able to take classes both summer sessions each year. Best of luck to him in the future.

Pat Andree. Have absolutely no personal knowledge of this player, just saw that he is transfering from Lehigh and is immediately eligable. He is 6'8' averaged 12.5 pts per game, 6+ rebounds and shot 41% from 3 pt range. He attended Christian Brothers Academy is Lincroft N.J. Probably recruited by many bigtime schools.

My thinking is we need other players than a stretch forward which Brandon Stone will provide for us. I would much rather have a guard the can get to the hole and score and hopefully defend or get a rim protector than a stretch 4. If the 4 can put the ball on the floor and score I would take that in a second but those may be harder to find the a rim protector even.

Good luck Cian. Congratulations on graduating in 3 years. Hope you can find a school where you can play.

Can we change the title of this thread so that it actually celebrates the young man's accomplishments...something like "Sullivan is graduating early and hopes to use his remaining eligibility elsewhere". Graduating in 3 years while playing a varsity sport should be lauded.

I think that's excessive. An accomplishment, no doubt, but he's leaving the basketball team. It is what it is.

I think G offered him coming out of Calvert Hall. He was a 4 star recruit coming out of high school. Love that Cian has graduated and can move on with an opportunity to play. We have had some excellent students in this program and I believe that has a positive impact on the team as a whole.

Only if we change the "Martelli out" thread title to "Best coach ever kicked to the curb by SJU of PA, puts one of those fingers on each hand up".

So, are we lobbying to change thread names for us, or for them? Because it sounds like we want to feel good about ourselves. No player would ever read this garbage looking affirmations anyway, unless they love being disappointed.
It is okay, however, to not handle this situation with kid gloves and respectfully call it what it is - Cian seems like a good guy, but the A10-level experiment was a disaster for him and for us. He wasted years of eligibility - got a degree super early which is rad - but as a basketball forum, it didn't work out well for either party. I wish him the best, as I'm sure we all do.

Dumb question: Does this mean they're on pace to graduate at the end of the spring semester or that Sullivan got his degree in 2.5 years and was done after the fall? Either is impressive.

Pookie Traci Cian Moultrie Cheddi...Man o man this is some Spring cleaning! Who knows who else is leaving??? okay, pookie and cheddi used up their eligibility. no spring cleaning there. why even include them in this post? cian is a great kid but let's be real, he can't play at this level. he's doing what's best for him. this was the worst kept secret ever. once the rotation got shortened near the end of the non-conference schedule, moultrie was the odd man out. personally, i thought he deserved to get minutes but i'm not at practice every day. traci leaving is the only one (so far) that shocks me. he struggled this season, but i felt he would come back and go out with a bang. sad to see him go. really nice kid. so what's the deal with deas? you implied a while back that he'd go the grad transfer route. any updates on that?
