So, was I correct in the nature of your comment? And if so, do you honestly expect me to believe a similar comment would've been made about a male AD in the same situation? Absolutely. You moderate this board. Why don't you search all similar posts and comments re the male former head coach of SJU and the thousands of Young Frankenstein memes attached to related posts.
Maybe you should be on The View instead of moderating a sports blog featuring, among other things, locker room talk.

Maybe you need to slow your roll a little, 23won. He's doing his job and it was a legitimate question. I have no problem with almost all of your posts, but that one was a bit over the top. Like it or not there's a big difference between saying that about a guy and a woman.

And making comments about Phil is a different context then the comment you made about the female AD.

Also, Phil's statement is both a nice sentiment and evidence an amicable parting probably wasn't going to happen. Which is totally understandable from his side and a tough situation from the school's. I was surprised to see how firmly and quickly he wants to be on the sideline for another school. Not surprised that he does, but thought it'd be one of those "I'm going to assess and in a year from now he makes it known that he's available" type of things. I take this as a highly motivated, new and improved, Coach Martelli coaching somewhere next year. Hopefully not in the A10. Change of scenery will be good for him.

I was shocked when I saw that article someone posted about Jim Calhoun coaching a local D3 program.

There it is, which I knew would come. If I have an objection to someone taking a totally unprovoked shot at a woman's appearance, I'm not a "guy's guy." More power to you.

I think Dom and Sielski were classmates or a year apart. Dom is good people. Pretty sure he's buddies with Tony Moss, who was at the A10 for a while and works at ESPN now as an editor.

Getting back to the topic at hand, nothing Phil has said indicates that he would have went along for the ride on a one year farewell tour with a coach in waiting.
This is a guy that is still hungry to coach. While he won't be at his next school anywhere near half of the 34 years he was on City line, he will be a motivated SOB. So if he does get a job at GW, or at a school that we happen to cross paths with, or St Joes crosses paths with, expect a tough battle that night.

Hart would fit in the offense that Ashley wants to run from the moment he touches the ground..
What would I give to play Hart and Clark in the 2 oppo corners, spread it out and let them tee off on defenses..

Begs a lot of questions, right? Only one season at Siena means GW paid or Siena didn’t negotiate a real buyout or Siena let him walk? And the one year move is a little ugly, no?

I was shocked when I saw that article someone posted about Jim Calhoun coaching a local D3 program. Stony Brook? I know it's probably a step down, but SB has developed into a very good low major program. Get a guy like Phil in there and the program gets stability until Phil decides to pack it in. Not a bad gig on the North Shore of Long Island. Unless Phil has higher aspirations.

Doubtful a guy with his roots in the area wants to move, and he's made bank over the years at St. Joe's. I could see him taking on a high school coaching gig and crushing it.

GW picks a 17-16 coach from the MAAC. Impressive He took over a train wreck. 17 and 16 is actually impressive for what he was dealing with - they could have been 12 and 21 with that group and it would have been impressive. Plus, you can't judge low major coaches on overall record - use conference record. Jamion will kill it at GW.
