I assume you didn't go with Syracuse because we're not looking at a sub-300 NCSoS?

We beat Iona in the first game, we'll go 9-3. Lose to Iona in the first game, 6-6.

7-5 start seems reasonable

Which two other games hinge on Iona? I just think that if we're not good enough to beat Iona at home, we'll struggle to beat Bucknell (again), Drexel, and/or Penn, and maybe lose a game in the tournament. That first game will dictate how the season pans out. At least the OOC schedule. Beat Iona in front of a solid home crowd, and I think good things happen. A bit of a confidence builder for a team that lost a few players, and brought in a solid Freshman class, and has Scott Spencer on the floor for the first time (although we really don't know what he brings to the court based on his first 2 years at Clemson). I think we'll see a big improvement is Croswell and Kimbrough, but the outside shooting has me concerned, especially if Shaggy sees alot of minutes. It's hit or miss with Shaggy, more misses than hits. I'm intrigued to see how Ash distributes the minutes, especially in the early going.

Ash didnt play Shaggy that much last season so i see him playing around 18min this year...Starting line-up will be or should be Beatty..Scotta..Saul..Ed..Hikim...Shaggy will play with the bench mob

I would hope as a senior Shaggy could figure out what is needed to play more minutes under Ash. Good programs have these players who figure it out and are dependable as foundations of the program.
It remains to be seen if this will happen but it would benefit all of us, including Shaggy if this could be done.

No offense to him but he’s prob not a foundational guy. A good piece.

Ash didnt play Shaggy that much last season so i see him playing around 18min this year..... shaggy averaged 26.1 minutes per game, fourth most after pookie, saul and jack. he'll get plenty of minutes this year if he reduces turnovers, improves his shot selection and defends consistently. he did a nice job drawing charges last year but he needs to stop his own man. senior year could be a big one for him if he does the little things. he's certainly got the talent. if he doesn't start, he could certainly thrive in a sixth man role.

I think this year will be defined as a meritocracy as compared to last year’s work in process rebuild.
We can speculate all we want but this year Ash will have a better handle on who can produce and who will help us win.
Shaggy could be a second team all A10 or see his minutes decline. It’s a function of what he puts in and buys in to Ash and what Ash thinks is best for the program. I like Shaggy and hope he succeeds but Ash has the keys so it is in his hands.

Speaking of Jack, what's his status for this upcoming season. It was mentioned in another thread that he needed surgery on one of his knees, but I cannot find anything that confirms it. Fact or fiction? and if factual, is he done for the season?

He is also now a solid 6'8 - 6'9, seems to still be growing

Iona picked time win the MAAC and picking up eligibility waivers for two transfers. Feels like a letdown on Homecoming is likely. But we will see.
