The 3rd Annual JellyBean (and Charm City Explorer) Challenge for our board is March 20th (which is the La Salle Day of Giving).
Last year we hit our goal and raised about $18,500 from 36 donors. The year before we raised $15, 000 from 42 donors. This year, Charm City Explorer and I have agreed to match dollar for dollar up to $8000 for men’s basketball. Let’s see if we can not only reach our goal but get 50 donors this year. Tell a friend. Now is the time to come together to help the program compete.
These funds that we raised will help our Explorers as they strive to be the best they can be, both on and off the court. Just like the last two years, these funds will go to the COBE account ( Clearing Obstacles for Basketball Excellence), with nutrition as the focus. Coach G told me that this was a major benefit to the program. We hope that you accept this challenge and help us achieve these goals. When you give, please write “Jellybean Challenge” in the remarks box (for on-line gifts) so that tracking is easier. Please visit the athletics campaign page and insert “Jellybean Challenge” in the box that reads “Tell us your story about why you gave today.” If you are sending a check, please write “JellyBean Challenge” in the memo section.
Should there be any questions, you can reach out to Brian Quinn at firstname.lastname@example.org or 215-951-1543 or Kale Beers at email@example.com or 215-951-1545.
Count me in again for the challenge. Thank you JB and CC. Uncle Ihor solicits his Wagner's Ballroom squad. I think we have 'Iceman' Jerry Butler agreeing to a small 'Never Give You Up' on La Salle Basketball donation. Ihor also has steered in a commitment from the 'Wagner Walk' folks who are strutting their stuff to Smokey and the Miracles' 'Good Good Feeling.' And before I retire into the 'still of the night,' Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor, and the Vancouvers wish to relay if those Big 5 girls I once upon a time dated had an inkling of 'does your mother know about me, I'm a La Salle fan?'
Just donated. Thanks Jellybean and Charm City. Great idea and way for all of us who care passionately about the program to do all it can to help the program compete. Hopefully this year blows the doors off of previous years donations. School stepped up last year and we should do our part now. #believe

Today is the 65th Anniversary of the La Salle Explorers, led by Tom Gola's 19 points, winning the NCAA Tournament over Bradley, 92-76. Hoping the Jellybean Challenge helps in some small way with getting our next one.

Thank you to JellyBean and Charm City Explorer for their leadership with this effort.
Here's an update: as of 2:30 p.m., $4,500 has been received from 19 donors. Thank you to those that have already donated. For those that have not, there is still more than 6 hours to today's Day of Giving.

Here’s a Challenge within the Challenge: there is a “Campus Life” Challenge tracking the donations of various campus groups, such as sororities and fraternities. How great would it be if the JellyBean Challenge (i.e., Explorertown) has more donors than the others? Right now, Alpha Theta Alpha and the Ambassadors are leading with 43. We have some work to do, but it can be done!
Still plenty of time to get involved! We will take all your online gifts through 11:59 PM and count any snail mail with today's date on it. Here is the link: giveto.lasalle.edu?referral_id=5c7feb77a8f72200037218f5 We really need to crank it out to hit last year's mark but I think we can do it! I personally have one more gift i'm going to post before it's all done.
Thanks to each and every one of you for participating and to JB and CCE for leading the way.
And let's take this time to thank everyone for their ongoing passion and support of our beloved Explorers!
The JellyBean Challenge was met and exceeded its goal! At the moment, there were 32 donors that contributed a total of $8,350...and we have been informed that there is more on the way (via regular mail)!
Congratulations everybody, and thank you to JellyBean and Charm City Explorer for leading the way and issuing the challenge.
