A-10 AwardsI am sure this will sting many. Ash needs to bring in better talent. That isn't breaking news but it says a lot about our talent level in all classes. I think our freshmen class is going to be good despite not winning anything on the rookie team. Jack Clark probably is on that team if he played 30 games.

eff the a10. not one la salle player on any of the all-league teams. slap in the face, just like the commissioner blowing off the st bonaventure debacle. pookie and/or saul should have made one of the teams. la salle and umass only two teams without someone represented. again, eff the a10. i hope ash has this up on a bulletin board. www.atlantic10.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=31600&ATCLID=2117951592018-19 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Awards Player of the Year Jon Axel Gudmundsson, Davidson Defensive Player of the Year Javon Bess, Saint Louis Rookie of the Year Obi Toppin, Dayton Chris Daniels Most Improved Player Justin Kier, George Mason Sixth Man of the Year Tavian Dunn-Martin, Duquesne Coach of the Year Mike Rhoades, VCU All-Conference First Team Jon Axel Gudmundsson, Davidson Kellan Grady, Davidson Obi Toppin, Dayton Courtney Stockard, St. Bonaventure Marcus Evans, VCU All-Conference Second Team Justin Kier, George Mason Cyril Langevine, Rhode Island Jacob Gilyard, Richmond Charlie Brown, Jr., Saint Joseph's Javon Bess, Saint Louis All-Conference Third Team Jalen Crutcher, Dayton Josh Cunningham, Dayton Grant Golden, Richmond Hasahn French, Saint Louis De'Riante Jenkins, VCU All-Academic Team Ryan Mikesell, Dayton Justin Mazzulla, George Washington Jeff Dowtin, Rhode Island Noah Yates, Richmond Marcus Evans, VCU All-Defensive Team Cyril Langevine, Rhode Island Jacob Gilyard, Richmond Osun Osunniyi, St. Bonaventure Javon Bess, Saint Louis Hasahn French, Saint Louis All-Rookie Team Sincere Carry, Duquesne Nick Honor, Fordham Obi Toppin, Dayton Kyle Lofton, St. Bonaventure Osun Osunniyi, St. Bonaventure

The list looks accurate to me. I don't see anyone from La Salle deserving to be on any of the lists as much as I hate to admit it.

Where should someone be on this list? pookie or saul should be third team. they belong there just as much or more than crutcher or golden. dayton already has toppin and cunningham on the first and second team. richmond already has gilyard on the second team. french is also the most overrated player and defender i've ever seen. saul has shut down more people than he has.

Where should someone be on this list? Maybe all academic? Otherwise, I can't fathom an argument.

All-Conference Third Team Jalen Crutcher, Dayton 3.4 Josh Cunningham, Dayton 3.9 Grant Golden, Richmond 3.1 Hasahn French, Saint Louis 2.3 De'Riante Jenkins, VCU 3.1
Pookie: 2.1 Saul: 1.5
Win shares are imperfect, for sure, but you've got to build the argument on some foundation other than "I'm a La Salle fan".

Ash needs to bring in better talent. You mean like Osun? Osun was the best of the freshman class. It is shame he isn't here. So yes, that type of talent.

Where should someone be on this list? Saul should be on the all defensive team unless he got penalized for missing the games in Nov/Dec.

I thought maybe Pookie should be on the list somewhere, but then looked at the game logs. Missed 2 games due to injury, and had a few bad outings including 0 points against Dayton and 2 points against St. Louis. I'm sure that hurt him.

I agree that I didn't think anyone was making an all league team. As noted, maybe Saul for all defensive, but that's about it. Here is the breakdown of how many all league players by school. I guess Dayton with 3 is the biggest surprise to me.
VCU Rams 2 Davidson Wildcats 2 Dayton Flyers 3 St. Bonaventure Bonnies 1 George Mason Patriots 1 Saint Louis Billikens 2 Rhode Island Rams 1 Saint Joseph's Hawks 1 Richmond Spiders 2

Here is my issue with dinging Saul - he missed nonconference games. Are these teams/honors a reflection of the whole season OR the conference season? To me it's about conference play but that is my opinion.

So he’s not in the top 50 in blocks or steals per game.

If there was an All-Inconsistent Team we would dominate.

Where should someone be on this list? Could make a case for Croswell at all rookie, but the voting coaches are preoccupied with points per game and less concerned with other stats.

We are the only team not represented on the list and we beat league fave Davidson, gave #1 VCU fits at home and got totally jobbed at SBU by SBU, the refs and the league . This is BS, and I don't care about ribbons but if I were in the locker room I would use this as gas on some fire to prove a point and send a message to the league that this is a different program and we should not be treated like red headed stepchildren. We win here and things change!
It's also amazing that Dowtin, with stats comparable to league PoY, didn't make 1st, 2nd or 3d teams.

Ed has been very inconsistent. Not unusual for the a freshman. Osun and Obi Toppin have had far better freshman seasons. Ed might end up being the best offensive rebounder in the league for the next 3 years. However, his inconsistency much like the rest of the team is why we don't much wins or trophies in the Hayman trophy case.
The entire team needs to improve their consistency and learn how to play better basketball than not each and every game.
