Phil would be pulling his hair out, except, you know... Yeah boy has he aged. Judging by the sight of the decrepit hawk tonight, he must be pulling the hawk’s feathers out instead. 5-4 baby! We might get to 11 wins overall and finish .500 in the conference this year. THE HAWK IS DEAD! And Christian Brothers > Jesuits is something I agree with.

The boys linking arms and walking to the foul line with the game in hand was incredible. Band of brothers.

Awesome effort all around by the team tonight.
I wish I could say the same about the fans. Even given the context of the season overall, it was a pathetic turnout, especially by the students.

Just back from the game. Great overall effort and execution from the team. Refs were mostly letting them play and we stayed out of foul trouble. I've never seen so many 3s hit by 2 teams in a game. Our hustle on defense off the ball was phenomenal. Crowd was into it...players looked like a unified team more so than I've seen in 5 years. Credit to Chatlie Brown who was phenomenal tonight, but bigger credit to our defense who kept him from taking over the game down the stretch.
It was an exciting game and a big win that mattered to a lot of people. 4 game win streak is huge. Haven't had that in the A10 in 2 years.

F#%k the Hawks and their cockroach fans. Very few Joey fans there tonight. Like rats deserting a sinking ship.

Back from the game. What a night. A win over the Joeys is always special, but a wire to wire, control the game, 14 point win is really unique.
The Joeys shot the lights out from the 3. They have a lot of smooth shooters. The Explorers were hotter than normal but didn't look as smooth a shooting team as the Young Frankensteins.
Bob McAdoo was courtside, scouting I suppose.
La Salle played great D tonight. Even though Brown got his points he really had to work for them and he was frustrated by game's end. Every single player hustled on D tonight. They still need to work on switching, but the team is coming along. Great game by the good guys. It was a fun game to watch in person.

What an effort. 20 assists on 29 made shots, 15-31 from 3, over 83% free throw shooting, 12 total fouls. Without Lorenzo Edwards, the 18% three point shooter, somehow going 6-6 from deep, it's an even bigger blowout.
Knew the explorers were the favorite, but that was a thorough ass kicking worse than the 14 point margin indicates. You guys should be proud of your group, it's really coming together.

We All are hard on players. But hear me out for a minute. The worst part about not being at the game is having to hear Richard prendergast hijack the great job kale does. I'd rather listen to a hippo die than hear his God awful commentary. Saint Joe's is bad, prendergast makes them look like first ballot hall of famers. It's Absolutely brutal.

Ash's goals. 2018-2019 season
Beat Alabama A&M for 1st win of the year (check) Win two games in less than 24 hours (check) Win a Holiday Tournament (check) Win first A10 game (check) Win first A10 game on the road (check) Hold on to leads late in the game against inferior opponents (check) Win first home game (check) Win on the road in come from behind fashion in the 2nd half (check) Sweep an A10 team (check) Win a Big 5 game, preferably against our hated crosstown rival (check) Win an A10 game against an upper tier opponent Win an A10 game against an upper tier opponent on the road. Finish Top 4 in A10 Win A10.
I don't think "losing first 10 games" was on the list.
We beat GMU on Sunday, we're a game behind them in the standings and own the tiebreaker, with Duquesne next Wednesday. One game at a time though. Momentum, confidence, and a Coach the team #Believe(s) in.

Anyone see the post game pressers? Martelli basically said game plan was to let our guys shoot threes and figured they weren’t going to make too many. Figured the recent improved shooting was more an aberration than a trend and was clearly proven wrong.
I’m still not convinced the right guys are on the roster to take the shots the offense generates but I do think we have guys taking the right shots. To me, that’s something to really build on going forward. That’s good.
Can anyone summarize the state of the Hawk board for me this morning?

Your wonderful commentary on a message board is a better contribution. Get a life. The special effects audio that's been implemented for a made 3 is kinda lame. While on the topic of media, you would think that in this day and age, an enterprising and ambition Comm student would provide a recap of the game, with highlights/commentary and perhaps a player and/or coach interview after the game. I know Ash has a post game presser, but can't a student out there be a little imaginative, and come up with something maybe more exciting and innovative? Maybe add a little humor to it? Grab an interview on the floor right after the game with Pookie, Traci or Saul, or a member of the Pep Band? Don't need a whole production team anymore to put something together. I mean, I understand we're not Syracuse U, but on the other hand, since we're a small University, you would think there would be no problem getting buy in from the team and players to get something together on a regular basis? You could literally create something with an Iphone and selfie stick and throw it on the Instagram page.

Miles Brookins only played 10 minutes last night. Kimbrough had 15 and Croswell had 24 minutes. With 4 guards on the floor big men minutes truly are going to the one who is producing.

I haven't been able to see much video, but does anyone see a resemblance between Ed Croswell and Jerrell Wright? (with Croswell being a better rebounder).

Croswell best game of the year last night IMO. Given I haven't watched every game. Great to see this team progressing and buying into Ash's system.

Can anyone summarize the state of the Hawk board for me this morning? Joe Cabrey is still trying to snitch on people to their boss. Seriously cant make this stuff up. "deanboz that's ridiculous. Please contact Joe Lunardi at jlunardi@sju.edu and let him know what happened. Also if you know who you were dealing with that wouldn't let you drop off the personalized envelopes and/or had issues completing your ticket transaction please include that information. It isn't about "gettng anyone in trouble" it's about an opportunity to help someone get better training and/or tools to be able to deliver a better experience."

Can anyone summarize the state of the Hawk board for me this morning? This pretty much sums it up: "Phil (one of the longest tenured coaches out there) just lost to a 1st year coach that is working with someone else’s players. If it’s not rock bottom, we are in trouble. A lot of us have paid a full year of season tickets and have not been to the Hagan in a month, and don’t plan to be there"

"If it’s not rock bottom, we are in trouble. A lot of us have paid a full year of season tickets and have not been to the Hagan in a month, and don’t plan to be there" They say the same. exact. thing. every season. If it's not La Salle, it's Fordham or GW or George Mason or Duquesne or some other school that triggers the mutiny. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Maybe they just aren't who they think they are. Maybe they've got more in common with lowly La Salle then they care to admit.

Joe's is one of the worst teams in the country defending the three. What balls it took to allow almost 50% three point shooting just to try to show up a young coach.
