I really miss the A-10s in AC. I want to enjoy an annual Pic-A-Lilli Pub cheesesteak at 2:30 on Thursday afternoon, right after we get bounced. I laughed. Even though it hurts.

In the battle for the bottom of the league, 0-8 Fordham is smoking 1-8 UAss, 39-20, with 3 minutes left in the first half.

Bonnies and Dukes locked in a tight one in Pittsburgh. Osun "The La Salle Basketball Savior" Ossuniyi with 18 (EIGHTEEN) boards with 13+ minutes to go.

Osun finished with 22 rebounds. That's definitely cool, but 4-14 from the field only gets you a weirdly-scented scratch-and-sniff sticker. Maybe next time, pallie poo.

Kid changes the game when he is in there. All you need to do is watch him play. Bonnie’s have two of the top freshmen in the league.

I just had Nova -9, and a ref counted a Creighton bucket after the final buzzer, like the announcers couldn't believe it. If this isn't changed, I will question the integrity of officiating with legal gambling.... This is really nuts

Osun finished with 22 rebounds. Osun as rim protector/rebounder and Croswell/Kimbrough (could) have formed a very formidable front court. Ya know? I mean, really formidable.

George Mason suffers a setback at Richmond 81-67 after getting obliterated by VCU last week. Maybe we catch them while they're struggling In years past, this would be a game we don't show up for. Riding a nice little win streak, rising in the standings, and then a sudden THUD to bring us back to reality, and losses mounting as we play out the remainder of the schedule. This year...is different (I hope). #Believe #HumbleandHungry

Mason is definitely a winnable game with how we have been playing of late. They are tough at home with some streaky shooters, but are missing a starter out for the season. 5 in a row would be phenomenal.

La Salle won five in a row in 16-17, 13-14 and 12-13. You have to go back to 2010-2011 to find six in a row, however.

The 16-17 was the only time they won 5 A10 games in a row (the other streaks were non-league or a mix of A10 and non-A10). Then they went and got spanked by VCU (the infamous no laughing, no movies press conference) and the team fell apart permanently after that. Looking forward to us besting that steaki!

The A10 continues to beat the crap out of each other like kids fighting when their parents aren't home. The Hawks put a drubbing on St. Louis tonight by 30 points. Another year where there will be two teams at the top, two or 3 at the bottom, and everyone else all clumped together with weird tie-breaker rules. Looking at the weekend match-ups, I think we can win on Sunday and still drop in the standings from 7th to 9th.

If we win on Sunday, the worst we can do is move up to 6th place in a tiebreaker with GMU. All other teams have more losses than us. We cannot move down in the standings. If Duquesne and Bonnies lose today, W on Sunday puts us in the 4 spot by way of a tiebreaker with GMU.

St. Joe's won an emotional game for Martelli last night. SLU had no answer last night for their intensity. Nice gesture by the SLU players to go hug Phil before the game.

Bilikins played at URI on Saturday, back to STL on Tuesday for a home game, then to Philly for a Friday game. Tough stretch for them, especially against an emotional St. Joe team.

You're right...I forgot we have a game-in-hand against RI and STL where we could be 6-4 with a win and them both 6-5 which puts us above them. I was only looking at wins and saw us all with 6 wins but below them because we lost head-to-head to them. We can be tied for 6th with the Bonnie if we win, or in sole possession of 10th if we lose.

I am not sure if this is the proper thread to post (so free to move elsewhere).
I saw this and thought it was quite interesting for the league next year. Bodes well for the future. I have been reading on the UMASS board that their fans don't think Pipkins will be back. Will take a 5th year Grad transfer.

Jellybean - I posted something similar recently. This is probably the thread it belongs in.
GMU is more so 2 with Grayer. He's a good player that's starting for them.
Richmond probably going to lose players. They are most likely firing Chris Mooney at the end of the season. In addition, we will see what happens with Martelli.
The most important thing next year is SCHEDULING. VCU will be on people's radar to be a top 25 team and probably Davidson as well seeing how they both finish the season. Dukes should have an asterisk on their name as they don't have a single junior or senior. Dambrot has/is really turning that program around fast.
Also, the seniors this year while all more than solid players aren't at the level of talent of last year's graduating seniors. So for instance, how much of a loss is Powell for us next year or Josh Cunningham for Dayton? We will see.

I dont intend to diminish Pookie's success with this, but I dont see his graduation impacting negatively as much as I initially thought. While talented as hell, he has the ball so much. I'm hoping it'll allow other guys to grow more.

I hate 95% of college basketball tournament formats. Ours is among the worst. The atmosphere is the best part about college basketball. The A-10 tournament is usually played in front of a 25% filled arena. It's terrible. The Big East, ACC and those level conferences can sell out a big arena. We can't.
The league is so compact geographically speaking that you can have some sort of "top seed gets home court advantage" thing throughout the tournament. Just do that. A "higher seed hosts a chance to get to the NCAA tournament" game anywhere in our conference would be really awesome to watch in person. Imagine it in Olean or VCU? Or if by some miracle we hosted that game? Yes, please, I would like to have that in my life experiences.
Even though it's a terrible conference, the NEC format rules. I always make it a point to watch that championship game. It's also the same with the Patriot League, too.
It's even dumber in the MAAC. Those Monmouth teams could have done some damage if they won the conference. The SoCon this year is really good up top. But Wofford slipping up against a quality Furman team in Asheville might cost them an at-large.
It makes sense for something like The Big Sky where schools are half a continent away from each other essentially. But it's still the dumbest experience.

God forbid anyone says anything about a player that isn't 1000% overwhelmingly positive, somebody needs to play the overly sensitive moral high-ground. I even tried to put a disclaimer on it - give me a break - it's sports banter.

So like all the games would be at the top seeds location or an underdog would be doing non-stop travel throughout a week or two? I like the former, latter seems impossible.

I agree with DD. Pookie is a nice player. But replaceable-not a whole lot of "accomplishments" to note from a team standpoint. Beatty and/or Carter should be take over that roll next year without missing a beat, and with a year under their belt. Ayinde might even be a able to step right in as well, although that step from HS to A10 is a pretty big one. With Joe's win last night, they appear to be on a bit of a roll offensively. They are shooting well, and not turning the ball over. If not for a great shooting night on Tuesday, we would have been in trouble. Phil's team, again, can make some noise come tournament time. I don't think Martelli is going anywhere.
