Seems fair to me. I'd have like maybe a few more votes, but you really can't complain. We are not one of the top 25 teams in the country, although certainly closer right now than we have been in a long while.

Butler only fell one spot. I guess we're considered a good loss these days (that and they beat Temple as well).

AP Poll via Dan Gelston's twitter
Villanova earned 6 pts and is "34th" in the AP Top 25 poll. La Salle earned 3 pts and is "39th." VCU received one more vote than La Salle.
La Salle has not been ranked in The AP Top 25 poll since it was 12th in the final one of the 1989-90 season.

Our RPI is 27!

Our RPI is 27! They are a national brand with better wins on National TV... Hell our Butler game couldn't get on regional TV.. The number 9 team in the country could not even get picked up which led a small percent of coverage.

Very true I always forget that the rankings arent as scientific and logically as I would like them to be. Luckily the selection committee is, as evidenced by our suprise 3 seed in the NIT last year

Butler only fell one spot. I guess we're considered a good loss these days (that and they beat Temple as well). Their RPI actually went up a spot after their loss to us believe it or not... Factors included were our RPI was good, other teams above them lost to worse teams and it was a road game from them.

Nova knocked off 2 top 10 teams this week...we knocked off 2 top 20 teams with one bein at home without their best player. I'm sure someone pointed to that and held it against us. And their brand as one poster mentioned. It is what it is. It's definitely be cool to be ranked though.

But your point about the brand is right....it makes a world of difference to voters who have not played or seen either team play.

Well they gave Butler credit and dinged the Zags for loosing when they played without the very same player!

As long as we're knocking on the door, its inevitable. I fully expect to be ranked when we head in to the palestra to play St. Joe's. That's not being cocky or overconfident - but as G has said, its what were supposed to do. Now we need to handle our business, beat teams we're clearly better then, and we'll continue to move up. Most of us didn't expect to go 2-0 this week, so 3 votes is a hell of a lot more than any of us could have imagined. Our time will come. Just handle our business.
