His latest move ended getting a child raped by someone they had in custody and just had to call ICE. From his pathetic dance celebrating Philadelphia as a sanctuary city to his latest debacle he is pathetic. Embarrassed he is a La Salle grad. Jim KenneyJim Kenney

I don't know where I stand in the overall debate, but this was a shitty post.
Kenney was inaugurated as the 99th Mayor of Philadelphia on January 4, 2016.
“The federal government failed to obtain an arrest warrant for this individual’s immigration offense in 2014... Since Mayor Michael Nutter’s administration, the city had not been providing the feds with the names of victims or witnesses of crimes."
I'm embarrassed you're a La Salle grad with those investigative skills. But sure, Kenney got the young girl sexually assaulted because he released the guy two years before he was even mayor...

Maybe the Mayor can come on here and blast him like our Prez did after the "snail's pace" comment.

I know it's fun to shit on Kenney and Philadelphia if you're against the sanctuary city concept, but:
1) Way to have some La Salle pride, going out of your way to draw negative connections between your alma mater and someone you don't agree with...
And...
2) If you have an opinion, that's fine. But you need to try harder than putting Kenney on the hook for something that happened two years before he took office. And saying "Kenney got the girl assaulted" is a super lazy comment designed to stoke a false argument.

I thought Kenney was mayor since 2014.Also confused me they were interviewing him directly about his part yesterday. I still hate him though.

In your defense, the article also said Kenney got the girl assaulted. I get that it's a flashy take designed to stoke passionate responses, but it's a shame editor allowed such strong conjecture to slide through, not that the Inky is the pinnacle of anything.

Kenney wore an Eagles jersey at La Salle- Villanova game. Shows you what he thinks of his alma mater. He is an asshole.

Not to get into the whole immigration/ICE policy thing, but I can't insist enough that anyone who lives in the Delaware Valley go explore the area around 9th Street just south of Washington. It's the home of Philly's Mexican community. The small mom-and-pop tacquieras in that neighborhood area awesome and some of my favorite places to eat.

Villanova isn't Philadelphia. but they spent a lot of money playing there this past year at Wells Fargo. Plus...the parade...

Philadelphia deserves whatever it gives itself. Mismanaged for decades if not for the last century. How many articles do you care to read pointing out all the failures, double (even triple) dipping, uncollected revenues, old crony political favoritism, etc, etc. Why you would want to live there is beyond my comprehension.

I'm in the process of moving from South Philly back to Jersey burbs after many years, but this will be in my 'Top 5 Things I'll Miss'. Los Gallos at 10th & Wolf - The cactus tacos are *Guy Fieri adjective here*. Thank god I'll still be in the city for work, it'll be my excuse for a trek to South Philly.

Is this because NJ has relaxed their brewery regulations and now there's good beer here?

Basically - and way more Starbucks per square mile, gurl. So Tonewood is pretty great, but Jersey still has a long way to go. Best ones in the state are up north, so we still have a way to go in the south.

I have Kane, Twin Elephant, Brix City and Icarus as the top tier. Troon is supposed to be there too but haven't had them yet.

I have a buddy who's been hooking me up with Troon, but that's only because he lives 15 minutes away. Brutal can release system, impossible unless you live within a stones throw and can drop everything at a moment's notice - mostly worth the hype, though.
Just did Other Half and Trillium last weekend, because why not...

We'd heard a rumor Other Half's satellite was possibly heading for West Orange but instead its going to Canada, NY. Lame.

This might be the weirdest deviation from the original topic that Explorer Town has ever experienced...and that's saying a lot.

My NJ faves are Carton, Kane, and Tonewood. Cape May Brewing is close, but not quite there. Don't understand the love for some of these IPA heavy breweries like Magnify and Bolero Snort. I pretty much support any of our "local" NJ breweries but really tough to call many of these places world class outside of 2-3 of them.

Gotta love overly expensive beer... Speaking of overly expensive beer, I was at the PNC Arts Center last night to see Jeff Beck in concert (one of the greatest all time guitarists). I bought two 24 oz. cans of Heineken (choices were limited) for a cool $15 a can. Unfortunately I didn't know the price until they said "that'll be $30.". Thank god I wasn't thirsty or I might have had to donate an organ to finance it.

All the city wanted was the Feds to get the proper paperwork. He was here illegally and committed a crime. You have to figure it out somehow. This happens too often. Not job st here but elsewhere.
