Kind of amazing to me that we suddenly have so many employment and NCAA compliance experts on this board who know exactly what assistant coach candidates should and should not be legally disclosing to potential employers while an investigation is ongoing. Even more impressive is the way in which people are using their expert knowledge on an Internet message board to determine his worthiness of employment.
La Salle can now save money on their HR and compliance personnel and just post questions here for all the answers. Looking forward to the specials on pitchforks and torches in the school store prior to his dismissal based on this board's opinion.

What is not amazing and never surprises me is the level of snark that's exhibited fairly often on this board. And yes, I know "let him who is without sin cast the first stone.", so I'll just drop my rocks right now.

But maybe use the snark properly? I don’t recall a single person making an NCAA rules declaration rather than giving their own personal guidelines for how this should be handled.

Dont need to be a compliance person to know that paying a parent is a violation. You're missing the point... <sigh>...again. Maybe you didn't understand the obvious sarcasm earlier, or maybe you were planning to apply the "administrative white-out" again (as one person messaged me after yesterday). People are on here debating whether or not he should still be employed at La Salle, or even should've been hired in the first place, based on what he did or did not disclose to La Salle. The reality is, none of the people beating their chests on here are expert enough to know what he did or did not need to disclose, and whether or not he should remain, yet people are saying things like "he should be gone if he didn't disclose". That's just silly. It implies that you know all the rules of this whole complicated thing. Personally, I don't care what he did at Louisville in that environment with the boss he had. I care that he's an obviously qualified assistant (who will likely one day be a head coach), and I want him recruiting and coaching as the pendulum on this program swings back to positive. Trust Ash, Bradshaw, and our Compliance department to do the right thing and enjoy the ride.

I know we did this before, but handing someone rent money isn't illegal unless there are NCAA rules that are being maneuvered around.

Jeff Borzello Verified account @jeffborzello 17s17 seconds ago More Jeff Borzello Retweeted Jeff Borzello Brian Bowen Sr. also testified he: • Received $1,300 from then-Louisville assistant Kenny Johnson • Received $8,000 from then-La Lumiere coach Shane Heirman • Received $5,000 from Mean Streets director Tai Streets • Received $1,500 from then-Mean Streets coach Tim Anderson
I would be surprised if Johnson is retained. He was paying less than a lot of other people which is just amazing. Creighton was named as offering payments.
College basketball is so corrupt. We lack facilities and cash to compete. God bless Ash.

I mean, I'd imagine so because it took the FBI and a court case for it come to light, but I also don't want to just assume it is just because it smells bad.

"La Salle" No one said he wasn't a good man, but he wasn't being paid to be a good man....he was being paid to be a good coach. I'm happy the highest paid employee in the University's history has stress off his shoulders, and am looking forward to where we now go as a program. Why are you even bringing up G and what a guy who didn't coach for him did or didn't do? That's so last season.

I bring it up because you know and I know that if it Johnson was an assistant under G and was accused of handing out $1300 the esteemed members of this board would be calling for his firing. Now that ash hired him? Yawn? No big deal? It’s not against the rules? Haha. Desperate to win which leads to double standards. I give props to the few posters that said if true he sb gone.
