That same channel has VCU Richmond on right now.
3:59 left in the game and VCU has just its second lead of the game.

Richmond hits 3 pointer at buzzer and we're going to OT.

Any chance of an impromptu watch party Saturday night anywhere in the Roxborough/Manayunk area? Ugly Moose?

routed in OT
Technically, they'll still be ranked on Saturday, I guess.

A10 is unpredictable this year. La Salle needs to go all out Saturday. Nothing to lose.

VCU is still a really good team that will finish near the top of the conference. We're at a point where our guys just need to win and the rest will take care of itself.

I saw the Richmond game at Gola, and I didn't think they had nearly as good players as we do. The fact that they beat VCU tonight gives me a great deal of hope for another big win on Saturday.

VCU probably was overlooking Richmond knowing the Explorers were coming to town on Saturday, your typical trap game.

I don't think there is any love lost between these two schools and this series could turn into a territorial grudge match (see La Salle vs. St. Joe). Richmond views themselves, probably correctly, as the more prestigious university. So maybe VCU didn't take the game too lightly but they just got beaten by an in-state rival.

A couple of years ago before VCU's NCAA run I started a Shaka Smart hero worship thing. The NCAA tourney made that disorder seem accepatble.
If the Explos can pull this off I will look for a new hero.

Richmond vs. VCU is a total class war.
Richmond is a rich kid school to the fullest. It's like Villanova or Fordham. It's really hard to get into (and markets itself as the south's Ivy League college) and is an absolute fortune. It's also located in the wealthiest old-money part of Richmond.
VCU has a very generous acceptance rate. It's also gigantic and in a really awful part of Richmond -- like Temple before that area got built up. And Richmond has one of the highest crime rates in the country. However, VCU has a really big arts school and has always attracted a lot of hipster-type kids. Richmond's sort of like a mini-Austin in a way in that there's a huge music/weirdo arts scene and VCU is the starting point for that.
My buddy from Virginia explained the colleges to me like this:
UVA -- Really hard to get into. It's like the state school for rich kids who want to live in the Old South.
William & Mary -- Like a mini UVA.
Virginia Tech -- The engineering and tech programs are really hard to get into. They sort of balance that out with their liberal arts program (which is how they get female students -- my cousin goes there and says it's like 65% males) but still hard.
James Madison/VCU/George Mason/Old Dominion -- There's essentially four metro areas in Virginia -- Richmond, suburban DC, the Norfolk/Hampton/VA Beach and Roanoake. 95% of the population lives within those areas. These are the actual state schools.

Just had to jump on to correct this... VCU is adjacent to one of Richmond's oldest neighborhoods, the Fan Area Historic District. It's a great walkable neighborhood of 19th/early 20th century homes. Monument Avenue runs right up to VCU. It's really quite nice. Just north of campus is an area that was rough in the 1990s, but has really changed as VCU has grown. Y'all should come visit next time, Richmond's fun.
