Sorry to coqui, I didn't save his initial post. Since this on on philly.com now, I'll post the link. Dr. Hanycz's daughter Emily, a Freshman at La Salle has passed away. I wouldn't imagine there's anything to do but express shock and profound sympathy for everyone involved, so I will leave this as a thread for everyone to do so. We can hope that at some point at an appropriate interval, someone from the school can pass this along to her as a collection of our condolences. www.philly.com/philly/education/daughter-lasalle-university-president-dies-accident-20171106.html

No worries on losing my initial note. This is really tragic.
The school sent out an e-mail to students and faculty this morning. I'm taking some night classes so I have a student e-mail address. The article is essentially a reworked version of the note.
Thoughts and prayers. Really sad.

Eternal rest grant unto Emily, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.

Dr. Hanycz and her family have become so ingrained into the La Salle family and identity in such a short period of time that it feels like she’s been here much longer than she has. Her presence on this board has been so welcome and refreshing on a personal level (especially given how temperamental and downright unbearable some of us can get sometimes when the team is losing).
I love La Salle and what it means to me. It’s been so nice to see her and her family, after moving to a different country and what must feel like a different world, jump into everything about this school with both feet, including her two older children choosing to attend La Salle as students, when they certainly would have had other options. I don’t have anything eloquent to say or touch on some deeper meaning. It’s just heartbreaking. My heart goes out to the whole family. No one should have to go through something like this.

I just read the news regarding Colleen's oldest daughers unfortunate death. This is just heartbreaking. I hope we can all take a moment out of our day to say a prayer for the Hanycz family.

Heartbroken for their family. My lasting memory of and reason I love La Salle is the sense of family I felt. I hope President Hanycz leans on that family and hope she knows she has a large community standing with her

I can't say any more than what has been said. My thoughts and prayers are with the Hanycz family. I know the La Salle community will help support them in any way possible.
