Deserves its own thread, I think. Admission is FREE! La Salle faces the Top Ten opponent, the West Virginia Mountaineers, in a neutral site doubleheader at Princeton on Sunday. La Salle is off to a hot 5-1-1 start including five shutout victories.
WVU at 5-2 with sole two losses coming at the hands of fellow Top10 teams, is currently ranked #6 in the country.
The #6 WVU-La Salle match is followed immediately after by a #20 Princeton-Delaware finale. (It's going to be a double header of two Top25 level teams.)
La Salle playing a top ten team (in any sport), in the state of NJ where I'm from, is like finding gold in your backyard. It's never happened before that I know of, and it might not again. Princeton has a nice campus and the soccer stadium is very new and inviting. I hope the weather is going to be beautiful.

They're actually picked tenth so I know the 5-1-1 start, which already eclipsed last year's win total, may be coming as a surprise to the rest of the league. There is getting to be more parity in the A10 than before. For instance, last season the 7 seed Dayton beat the 1 seed St Joe's in the final. I still think La Salle will finish Top 5, in this tight conference.
As for rank, I noticed that Princeton at 6-0-0 is #20, St Louis 6-0-1 is "also receiving vote" and St Joe's is regionally ranked at 4-1-1 but with one of those crucial wins being AT OHIO STATE. La Salle is 5-1-1 with five shutouts but as of yet unranked even regionally. The key match-ups are this weekend, because leaping over SJU and SLU at this point would require stronger match-ups, rather than necessarily better results.
