My opinion: the University has done a terrible job of networking and marketing for several decades. It's a school that has produced hundreds, and perhaps thousands, of doctors. Yet, LaSalle still don't reach out to us with updates on the Biology program. Or news of the new science building. Or, news of how other doctors are doing. I'm an Honors Program grad, and have not received one newsletter about the Honors Program since I graduated 20 years ago. Think about how many LaSalle doctors and/or Honors Program grads may have deep pockets. But, understandably, if they feel no connection to a former school, why should they donate a dime? The communication dept. does a decent job of networking. But that's about it. Add a high school gym, a failed football program, and no high profile sports teams for 20 years, and you've got a D-1 school behaving like a small D-3 school. It's a shame. The University is missing out on millions of dollars.

They have had alumni meetings. These are young alums too, so your zero young alum support is an overstatement. I was wrong about attendance too. Last night's was the best I've seen for a weekday January game in four or five years. The winning can be the catalyst, because it has started to erode thelosers mentality. The nursing program, our bread and butter, is on probation with the a creditors, I heard from one source. That must be our top priority, every day, for the next six to 12 most. If we lose that major then our enrollment then our conference affiliation then everything this admin worked to build will be moot.

Anyone for joint venture with say, a Haverford or Swarthmore? Money, money. money............... Why would Swarthmore or Haverford do that? When La Salle moved campuses out to the suburbs they should have done this with a long-term strategic plan to get out of the city and also hire a businessman to at least run the business aspect of the university. Never in a million years should a Christian Brother be repsonsible for growing the finances of the school.

The new CFO seems to be doing a good job with managing his current portfolio and I agree that if someone were more finacnially savvy as a leader of the Unviersity then the inputs would continue to grow. I understand they want a Christian Brother as a rpesident, and I'm fine with it, but let's make it more of an honorary title or a role that's focused solely on Academics and Student Life, but i terms of strategic planning, management and execution there needs to be somoeone with a CEO mentality running the ship. I would love to get the former Acme CEO and La Salle alum into a leadership position In addition, the University needs to get its BOT down to like 8, we have way too many people on that thing and therefore nothing ever gets accomplished. I work for a multi-billion company and we have 6 members on our Board + Chairman, La Salle does about 25% of the business we do and has more than twice as many board members. Too many chiefs, not enough indians.

Are you kidding me with this? I hope so. How does that even happen? Or is this a probationary period as in, evaluating for accredidation as part of a normal process not necessarily in response to something?

How don't people lose their job over the nursing school disaster? Only at La Salle does mediocrity get rewarded.
Hoops. wasn't ACME in financial trouble under the CEO who was a La Salle grad?
We don't need a La Salle guy to run the university if it is a businessman. Just pay someone a great salary and give them a great incentive plan.

www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/document/770539/nclex-performancern_pdf?qid=25735831&rank=2In 2012 La Salle scored a 76% passing rate, and the minimum is 80%. Therefore, we are on probation, but there is an opportunity to turn it around. I went on CCNE's website and it still says accrediation of our baccalaureate program is thru 2014. Perhaps the probation can be overturned, but this looks like a critical year for getting extended for another 10 years. If we don't get reaccredited, enrollment will suffer. As for ACME, well, the industry is suffering as a whole. Only a few players have been able to survive in it for this long, and ACME is one of them.

I would like to reiterate that my "one source" is somewhat skeptical. I went on CCNE's website and it still says accrediation of our baccalaureate program is thru 2014. Perhaps the probation can be overturned, but either way this looks like a critical year for getting extended for another 10 years. If we don't get accredited, enrollment will suffer. As for ACME, well, the industry is suffering as a whole. Only a few players have been able to survive in it for this long, and ACME is one of them. ACME is not dead, I will agree but they have closed a lot of stores. As for the nursing program, I read the article that came out regarding this issue and apparently when they take their tests the candidates' nursing school is given a percentage grade of students passing. I think the acceptable rate was 80% and over or something like that but La Salle students were passing it at 79% or something that was close to the minimum. I believe La Salle did not lose accredidation but now is on some list that monitors the passing percentage. Either way not good news.

yes, I fixed my post. It was a 77% passing rate and the requirement is 80%. Hopefully it was one off year because the prior classes all passed.
